Hey, got some recommendations?

Did you hear any of the lyrics from the song? It's hard to narrow what you're looking for down when we only know that it's slow and has a long solo. Unfortunately I'm not that familiar with Iron Maiden, but you could try looking at Black Sabbath, some of their songs are considered slow? If you can remember any lyrics it would be very helpful. Sorry I couldn't help.

I sadly cannot.
I also do remember that the rythym and tempo of the solo matched the tempo of the singing, if that helps a little more.

Hey kidpunk, for questions like yours this thread here would be a more appropriate place to ask them.

oh kay. Im gonna try this out :P

Im almost done with these 2 books im reading. And im not sure what to read next. Heres what I like:
Percy Jackson & the Olypians
The Heros of Olympius^
The kane chronicals
On the run / Kidnapped
--
Other books i liked but dont exacly feel like reading:
The boxcar children - ok I might still read these. :)
the magic treehouse?
Gaurdians of ga'hoole - Im to book 6-7? but im kinda bored with them, sadly

I also have my moms books (crime/drama/mystery) but those are last resorts :P

Any Recommendations? (That word should be smaller -_-)

Considering I've once read some of those books when I was younger perhaps I can offer you some reccomendations?

-Eragon (Typical Fantasy, boy-meets dragon novel, set in a vivid world with a great background, easy to get hooked on)

-The 39 clues (This was sort of written for 10-13 year olds (lol), but my sister reads it, and I've perused one or two of her books before, and they have a pretty cool plotline in place)

-Bone (Well, technically a graphic novel, but this is a book that is pretty much universally 'cool' and the art and storyline are great, these books are extremely hard to put down)

I'm looking for some songs similar to:
Closer to the Edge- 30 seconds to Mars
High School Never Ends-Bowling For Soup
Coming Undone-Korn
No Hablo Ingles - Bowling For Soup
The Anthem- Good Charlotte
Riot - Three Days Grace

any suggestions appreciated.

You may want to try Mudhoney.

"Touch Me I'm Sick" is probably the song for you.

May as well try for a reccomendation.

Something like Holy F*ck, Four Tet, Animal Collective, Errors..Or like LCD Soundsystem, Hot Chip etc.

Go on. Try.

I did a quick youtube search for irish folk instrumentals and came up with this which is similar sounding in some aspects.

Anyone have any instrumental recommendations for songs that sound like this?

The Pogues - Dingle Regatta

The Pogues - Metropolis
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kZ4bPQfg-Q

The Pogues - Gridlock

And probably straying away a bit from that genre, Four Tet, probably the best instrumentalist out there..Even though it's mainly all on a computer..But that's beside the point. Definitely give it a try.

Four Tet - She Just Likes To Fight

Four Tet - As Serious As Your Life

I really like electronica/dubstep/house/DnB, but finding good artists is really hard.

I really like Skrillex, Showtek, Kitsune², Furries in a Blender, and odaxlagnia.

If I could get Showtek without vocals, that would be incredible. Lol.

The Bloody Beetroots
Crookers (Their earlier stuff like Knobbers, My Penny, Wassup etc...Might not like their collaberations.)
Justice
And perhaps you may even be willing to try stuff like Eskmo, Errors or even Late of the Pier.

Anyone have any recommendations for J-Rock/Metal Bands that sound similar to Bivattchee?
If you haven't heard any Bivattchee, here are a few videos.
Video 1 - Taiyou no Mannaka he
Video 2 - Minamimawari no Kaze

Mind if I put in a more specific request?

I hate screaming (well, it can be okay in small doses... so I wouldn't mind if it was just a little bit, but not a whole song of it) but want the guitar playing to be pretty much as hard core as possible. I don't really know enough about music to know what specific genres I like, but anything fast, and worthy of headbanging. lol

Could you suggest some bands based on that? Japanese or English.

Rap Music
"Free Agent" by Joell Ortiz. His approach to the album is almost as if it were a Mixtape. He talks about what he wants, whenever he wants on the track. No commercialism on any of the tracks. Overall a great listen, and single "Kawl Me" is a great listen whenever.

"My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" By Kanye West. Artistically the best album of all time. Overall the best album of the past two years at the very least. Blame Game and Dark Twisted Fantasy are genius tracks worthy of Tracks of the Year (if that award existed). Great comeback album for a great artist.

"Liquid Swords" by The GZA. For those who don't know The GZA is an original Wu Tang Clan member. Of all the albums that Wu Tang Clan released in the 1990-2000 period "Liquid Swords" is unanimously decided as one of the top 3 released, and to some the very best. With an album cover like that, and then a classic intro this is one of the greatest Rap albums of all time.

Just some albums I have on deck at all times.

Well... They're a bit different, but I'd suggest Jinn.

I have a Jinn topic in the Japanese Entertainment section.

On thaaaaat note...

I like Jinn (Topic), K2G (But none of their other songs :/ It's just something about that song...) Xi Shua Shua (Yes, the version of that other song), anything by IOSYS (Musical style, mainly... I want something new), and The Pillows.

So, um, yeah. Any recommendations?
