How are you with alcohol?

Last time I drank was like 4 years ago at this point I think? I've been semi-avoiding it since I had a couple of bad experiences while drunk as a teenager, but even putting that aside I have nobody to drink with and no interest in getting drunk on my own, so eh. Also I'm a lightweight and I get really annoying when I'm drunk.

15-17 shots and you just started drinking??? Must have been like whiteclaws or something otherwise, you may not be here. 😂 When I was 17 I got way too into drinking for a while and again when I turned 21, I worked at a pub so the bartenders loved getting me wasted during my shifts. Now I don't drink much though, I'll get some beer occasionally if the supermarket has a brewery stocked that I like. I am also down for single malt Scotch, however, and my go to is MacAllan 12, preferably with a cigar.

Yeah I was hanging with my veteran friends so it may have just been light stuff. I'm all for it though, that was more than enough for a casual like me lol.

this thread is not for me I may sound like a child but I never had alcohol except if that is a sanitizer

I do like drinking, yea. Haven't done much of it since rona started tho since drinking alone isn't too fun.
Last time I got hungover was last year I think, around this same date, but last time I drank like a lot was on November during a friend's bday.

I wouldn't say I'm lightweight at all, but I can't drink a loooot either. Mostly bc I'm afraid of getting drunk to the point of being completely fucked up.

Guess I'll be one of the odd one's out here, in that I drink quite regularly. I've been sick for the last month or more and haven't touched it during, but prior I drink a couple of times a week. I even had a point where I was drinking almost every day because I was stressed, I did quit that, at least. LOL

Normally, I just drink sweet liquors, and mixed drinks, and I'll have three or four and then stop. My tolerance is fine, I usually get tipsy, or if I'm actually drunk a few drinks in I'll stop there. I think it's fun to feel it for a couple of hours and then cut myself off. Never been the type to enjoy getting black out drunk. Only done that a couple of times, and I remember feeling so sick that I've never wanted to end up like that again.

How I handle is questionable, because if I get too drunk I will laugh at everything and then pass out. I remember my boyfriend having to guide me to sit down, and all I could do was lay in bed and feel awful. Never again.

It's super fun to get tipsy and play games, or hang with friends and such, though.

"drinking alone isn't too fun"

And Im just sitting here watching YouTube since my girlfriend went to bed, drinking wine and smoking a bowl 😂

I honestly can't stand it. Acquired taste yadda yadda yadda, but there's something about the taste and the sensation it leaves in my mouth that I really don't like.

I only drink when I am bulking so since I usually eat at a significant surplus and a great deal of carbs to absorb the alcohol, I am not a lightweight and can usually quickly drink about 4-5 before I feel a little tipsy, but I only drink socially and I've only had a few occasions last year where I actually did drink.

I am fairly lightweight but I don't get Asian flush miraculously :'D I probably start feeling tipsy after 2-3 drinks but I've never drunk enough to vomit/be blackout drunk yet with the most I've had being 8 in one go. If I don't eat properly/stay hydrated then even 1 drink can make me feel lightheaded. When I'm drunk, I'm usually super happy and laugh a lot. My friends are all down to drink + uni is a factor in drinking a little more than rarely but I would say I try not to drink if its not a special occasion/party.

What's Asian flush?

What's Asian flush?

It's a common phenomenon for Asian people when they drink alcohol! I'm not fully sure how it works but basically due to an alcohol intolerance, their face will flush a bright red when drinking even a small amount of alcohol (can range from mild to full on bright red like a tomato).

can confirm. i've hung out with a bunch of Asians (since I live in Asia, it's natural to be surrounded by them lmao) and this is a common sight to see haha.

I don't drink nor ever will due to personal reasons and just my preference like everyone else in society dose, well a few .

I very very rarely drink. Even less so in quarantine. When I do drink it's usually just a glass of wine or a little spritzer or something. I have a decent alcohol tolerance and haven't been drunk in a few years, but alcohol usually makes me really emotional and sappy around people :P I've been trying to get a better handle of my emotions so I actively make an effort not to drink myself into that state haha

I'm not really fond of the stuff, but only drink a small amount on a special occasion, if I'm pretty much hassled into it.
Admittedly, there are only a few kinds of alcohol I can stomach. I like ale a little bit, I suppose. It tends to make me feel quite warm or light headed, so I avoid drinking alcohol.

Pre covid I drank a lot, yeah. Mainly when I would go out a lot to clubs in the city with friends.

With the pandemic I haven't been drinking as much due to clubs and social events being extinct but will have some wine when I do virtual game nights and such.

I don't drink at all. Not for health or social reasons or because I can't stand it or whatever; I just found out I hate the bitter taste of most alcohols. Even cocktails give me that "yuk!" face lol.
