How did The Treehouse get to be so spammy?

lax shouldn't necessarily mean laxative
 
I sort of like it around here a bit more now, because previously there were a lot of "post and run" threads. Now it just feels like people chatting about random stuff. It seems like all the "questionable" threads have died down since the change :)

Yeah but think about all the idiots I kicked off of PC

I don't think it's more spammy, but I would say it's more clique-y, like how PC to used to be several years ago. Treehouse has a good bit of regulars who all know each other and I find that a lot of their inside jokes and stuff have permeated the place and dominate most of the active threads. Nothing wrong with that, just my observation.

I think Quajutsu is right though, Treehouse seems more active this way (and more funny too lol), good job Treehouse mods.

But yeah if you want more serious threads Round Table is your forum section.

Students started putting food colouring in their gruel, brought in fancy containers to parade the gruel around, one or two students even started bringing in sugar. In response to this wild new atmosphere in the cafeteria, the PTA appointed new chefs directly from the student population. These chefs knew what the students wanted and gave it to them: Krusty Brand Imitation Gruel and all the flavouring they could possibly want. No solid food as of yet, but the students went wild. They poured containers of Krusty Brand Imitation Gruel onto the floor and put their heaving bodies into the mixture. But it wasn't enough. Soon they were mixing it with their own faeces, wiping it on the walls and covering every solid surface with the gruel. This continued for a small time before the chefs were forced to hit the fire alarm and let the sprinklers wash the gruel away. The students eventually calmed out of their rabid state and went back to eating their normal Krusty Brand Imitation Gruel as it was served by the chefs. Sometimes fecal matter still manages to be ingested, but the students are so used to it by now that they accept it as just another flavouring. This is where we are now.

but really who cares if this place has less quality really, aren't we here to have fun dammit. the environment is actually paralleled with the purpose of a place like this. I mean look at the url of this forum lol. what more do you want
 
The old DCC from back in 2004-ish was basically weaboo spam central and all the other OC threads were pretty dead. It was never 'quality'. The round table used to just be a bunch of poll threads, now it's for serious discussions. I like it better this way, it's way more chill and easy to talk. We used to get warnings for cursing, there was a 25 character limit that you'd get in trouble for bypassing and you'd also get shamed for making post that were only 4 words long or just talking back and forth together too much if there were only 2 people speaking, you'd get told to take that shit to PMs.

And Chibi-chan was just as bad as the rest of us back in the day...
 
Being 100 I never posted here for 7 years until 2015 and that was only because chase forced me to so I don't know what it was like back in the day

I truly don't think that there is anything wrong with having a more laid back atmosphere or having fun but sometimes I look at a thread and think "this dude has to be trolling" because a laid back atmosphere doesn't mean post a flat out stupid thread but hey that's just me. If the mods allow it then I'm game I guess

Not worse, just different. And only been different more recently. It's strange to try and get used to.. but it's subjective. I do miss how it used to be, though.. I found it easier to contribute to threads because they were somehow easier for me to follow.
 
Quality is subjective here because everyone has different opinions here about what it means and whether or not there is actually quality here. There's plenty of good activity and discussions and we have fun here and I say if you don't like it, then don't come here and whine about it, just get out.
