Unless I'm doing something specific, I generally zoom through the games nowadays. I know pretty much all the stories and secrets and the such, so no real reason for me to really be spending any time exploring or anything. I mostly spend any 'extra' time grinding to be honest. BDSP in particular I absolutely flew through, namely as a little bit of a challenge.

That said, now I'm building a second team for the final E4 rematches, that playtime has got reaaaaaaaaalllllllllllll long.
 
I'll typically try to focus on just playing one video game at a time, so if I'm playing a Pokemon game it's usually something I can breeze through in something like 3 days max. I had a recent playthrough of Leaf Green where I just went through the whole thing in a single day since I know my way through. Even if I'm playing quickly and just going from one gym badge to the next without any detours, I haven't ever really found I had to grind. If it's a case like the very end of Johto where there can be a level spike, I'm either spending multiple rare candies I find to keep up and looking where to find them, or I've got some plan or preparation for something I know will be a wall for me.
Basically, I know the games well enough to just breeze through them if I want.

If I'm playing them for the first time though, I find I'll probably take about a week or two to finish them, I'll prioritize main story completion over everything else, but won't consider my time done with a new Pokemon game until I've filled out the Pokedex, which will just come right after beating the game.
 
I like to play relatively fast when I decide to play, my favorite part of the game is often after the main story. A lot of the early games just aren't enjoyable to play and it feels like I'm battling with wet spaghetti noodles. This might partially be since I started with X and Y which takes two years to get between some of the earlier gyms. Normally I slow down around gym 6 and take my time after that, but before that it's really easy to just breeze through.
 
I take usually around a month to beat a Pokemon game. Or at least that was my groove for most of my journeys. Lately I'm taking longer than that, due to feeling too anxious to play sometimes. But I still work on it to complete each game. When PLZA comes out, I'm hoping I can finish it in around a month. I don't remember what my playtime usually comes out to be, but it's pretty big by the time I finally beat the Champion.
