How often do you restart?

Practically never.. I restarted Diamond a few times (losing the one shiny that I had in the process, which I didn't realize till after) but generally for the rest of the games I tend to keep them on the same save files forever. I spend a lot of time after the game is over exploring the region, trying to find all the nooks and crannies that I missed during the main storyline.

I do restart Gen III ROMs a lot, that's about it.

Hmm, not often. I used to do it all the time, but since I have started doing challenges I haven't had motivation to do a regular playthrough. Paired with the fact that it takes me forever to actually finish a challenge, it doesn't happen a lot ~_~.

I remember restarting my Soul Silver not remembering I had a shiny pokemon on it, twice. Those were the days lol.

Not a lot, honestly. I've only restarted Ruby twice, Silver a lot of times (battery was dead, I don't really count it), Red/Yellow once, Soul Silver once, and Y once. x'D Compared to how many games I've owned in the past it's not a high number! I haven't restarted a game in about two years, haha.

After restarting my original FireRed and Emerald saves many years ago (which is something I seriously regret) I've played through those games countless times. Other than that I've restarted on White, SoulSilver and Platinum, I'll never reset my Crystal save and everything is on X and OR so I guess I'll have to transfer stuff to Pokemon Moon when it comes out if I want to replay them.

It's very rare that I ever restart any main series Pokémon game from the beginning. The most recent occurrence was having to reset my Alpha Sapphire after I made a major mistake in the gameplay that couldn't be corrected.

Years ago, though, I did restart from the beginning in Crystal a few times to play under a different persona than the previous save file I played as.

I restart every few years, when I feel like playing through the storyline again. The only two of my games that I won't restart are my Pearl and Y versions. Pearl has my original save file on it from when I first played the game, even though I transferred all my Pokemon up. (And I spilled orange soda on the cart, so the tabs are wonky). Y is my "main" game, where I have all of my Pokemon stored.

I've never had the heart to restart any of my older games. I did however, restart on Soul Silver and on Pokemon Y. I took a long break after PokeY was released and I felt like, nothing was mine. I transferred all my pokemon from events 'nd friends over though. I'mp super happy with my teams now though <3

And I was forced to restart on Soul Silver because I let my brother in law (who was 11 at the time) play it, and when it was given back- he continued my profile instead of starting over. :(

Let's just say I restart the games more often than I finish them. Just something about those first few routes and battles that is always good.

I hardly ever restart my games. I just hate losing my progress too much!

Back in the RBY era, I restarted Red several times, but that's mainly because I was able to back up my saves to my Mega Memory Card. I restarted once around Mt. Moon, because I couldn't get through it and thought I was going the wrong way and needed to head to what ultimately ended up being route 23 (didn't back up that one), then I had my "main" game, then I had a glitched file (used the Missingno glitch, though nothing else too major, but got bothered by the fact that I was "cheating" and restarted), and then another file that's the one I currently have on my Red cartridge.

These days, I generally just buy multiple copies of the games, and play extra files by starting the extra cartridges. Some of those I'm fine restarting (though I hardly ever get around to doing so), but I leave my "main" file for each generation alone.

I have two sets of games; Challenge Games, where I do Nuzlockes and things, and Keepsake Games, which I cherish forever. I will consistently reset my Challenge files to make new challenges, but my Keepsake games are precious; I'll never delete them.

I don't restart ever unless if its early on in the game, but last time I'd restarted was all the way back in my Diamond game (ik diamond.)

I just get too connected with the progress id made in the game + the pokemon id caught so yup lol
