    So, folks, howdy!

    Not sure who all here remembers me, I was pretty active until about a year or so ago, but I sort of dropped off the face of the planet.

    Had a lot of stuff going on in my life, and I sort of disappeared from everything really. I made a post a bit back in another category that I was diagnosed with a degenerative eye disease and told I'm going blind. In April I had my transplant, I posted a bit then. Since then work's been nuts...

    BUT GUYS MAFIA IS A THING NOW? I GAVE YOU MAFIA AND NOW IT HAS ITS OWN CATEGORY????!!!!!

    I don't know whether to be happy and cry or be like, "Yo, I did dis furst."
     
    I just did, that's pretty crazy. So many mafias. I done be proud. I mean I know it wasn't the first ever to bring mafia over here, but I tried to make it a thing for supporters at least to test it out.

    It's awesome to know that it's a thing now!
     
    He's right with the 90%, I'm involved with it recently, surprise, surprise.

    But yes, Mafia games started off as a subforum in The Playground but then they got so popular they broke off into their own category and have since become one of the most popular sections among members today.

    Oh man, I do remember you! Supporters S1 was my first exposure to mafia. I had no idea what I was doing and ended up dying like day 2 ;_; I think it's safe to say that you're the one who started it all. Awesome having you back! Now you just have to get caught up on all the inside jokes we have in UG
     
    Klippy, Netto, and Ash were the biggest drivers behind getting the section off the ground and maintaining the energy started by all those supporter ones (my primary contribution to it was "Yeah, let's do it" to the thread tag and then the subforum, which isn't much in the grand scheme of things).

    Mafia's been a thing that's been attempted on and off over the last 5 years, though. There just wasn't much interest from the userbase in playing any of them all the way through until your supporter ones came around. Before then, there were problems with people signing up to play only to never show up the rest of the game.

    So be happy, because without your games making active members of the community who love playing mafia games aware that mafia is a thing that can be done on PC, mafia would probably still be struggling to get off the ground as a game type in The Playground.
     
    I would be among the prospective 1% that heavily enjoyed the idea of introducing mafia, being a longtime player of it myself on several fanboards previous to my membership here, but totally dropped the ball when it was introduced and didn't play at all. :P
