    You know what's extremely obnoxious? People who reply with nothing but ''lol'' after loooong (Or normal) replies. I'm sure it's acceptable if what I say is a joke, but I'll wanna rip your head off in any other scenario, if you do that.

    I cannot keep a conversation alive, if all the other person says is ''lol''. I just can't.

    Yeah it's extremely annoying when people do that, but I do it too. The conversation was probably going to end anyways, they just throw in the lol as a substitute for "I dunno what to say".

    But yeah, I do think it's annoying when one does a TL;DR and all they get is an "ok" or an "lol", especially when I make a lengthy post that took a good few minutes for me to type up..
     
    If I'm short with my replies it's usually because I don't have much to add. Though to be honest there are times where I'm short with people because I'm just not interested in what they are saying.
     
    If some of the people I chatted with literally lol'd after every reply of theirs, then they'd be dead from all the laughter. :o
     
    It's the annoying way to end a conversation imo. I can't stand people that just type lol. -yawn-
     
    Its definitely a conversation killer, that's for sure. I also just have a hard time understanding what the phrase is supposed to mirror, exactly. I feel like it's turning into the modern day period. Sort of how telegrams ended with STOP after every sentence. Instead of this STOP. You get this lol.

    Yeah, people aren't even using it for what's it supposed to mean. -_-

    Example:

    A: I'm bored.
    B: lol

    I am sure that you can all see how hilarious and clever was person A's text. Person B knows what's up.
     
    Yeah lol's are annoying. Especially through text messaging on phones. I can't tell you how much one of my friends & I tell our gang that this topic right here & everything I'll post below, is just ridiculous annoying. They don't care. Horrible conversation folks >:( Its no different than:

    1) k or ok
    2) "ic" or I see
    3) cool
    4) wow
    5) nice
    6) ah
    7) mmm, umm or mhm
    8) yay or awesome!
     
    I hate all text talk, I've never used it at all. It just shows how lazy some people are.

    Lol is the worst though, because people just spit it out randomly now. It doesn't even replace laughter, it's just a meaningless filler.
     
    I am guilty of this haha. I do realize that it is annoying and probably something that no one should to because of how it kills conversations but I guess it's easier to say "lol" than "I have nothing else to say"

    Lets take a look at internet language 'lol', its so good, it doesn't really mean "Laughing Out Loud". Its so good, that it can be used in any and every single situation ever. Try it today!
     
    Honestly, I couldn't care less what the person I'm talking to thinks of me if I reply with 'lol' or 'k'. Some times there's just no other way to reply to the person you're talking to without reading the message, not replying and being rude. I quite dislike and fail to understand why so many people find 'k' to be rude. I mean...what? It's just a short term for okay, or ok. If I wanted to offend you, I have a plethora of other words I could use. :p

    But yeah, if you've typed out a really long response and all you get in return is a 'lol' or 'k' then I understand how one finds that annoying; especially if your message is open-ended.
     
    I have a couple of friends that say lol or k way too much but you kinda just get used to it. I guess also they just say it if they have nothing else to say, and honestly I've done it too before. But then you can just change the topic too?
     
    I use LOL if I want to end a conversation and just use short answers for everything until they get the memo or just can't be bothered to keep the conversation alive.

    Lol .-. I agree with it seeing as how usually if I want to talk to someone or text them they are either pissed or hate me to begin with.... it bothers me because I enjoy conversing but no one likes to converse with me >x<

    Oh wait! I normally use something like "lol" or "k" when I have nothing else to respond with.
