I'm tired. Naptime!

Do you take naps? Why or why not?

I try not to because they screw up my sleep schedule, but sometimes I just can't help it. I am tired and I'm not going to bed early anyway, so naptime it is!

According to Shining Raichu, this makes me an old lady, but I don't care. :p

I never take naps ever. Not because I don't want to, but because it's literally impossible for me to fall asleep in daylight, and if I tried to nap at darktime, I would probably just sleep till morning (or afternoon, depending).
I don't mind anyway I guess. I can just curl up in a ball and close my eyes which is restful on its own. n3n

I take naps from time to time because there are times when I hardly ever slept and I need the extra sleep.

I used to when i hardly had anyschool and when mum and dad had the double bed insted of my sister

I don't like taking naps. I lose time to do other stuff. That's how I see it. xP

But, I do take naps if I'm really sick. That's probably the only reason why I'd ever take a nap.

Haaah, naps. xD; I never nap. I don't get tired all too easily, and I wouldn't be able to fall asleep even if I tried.

I'm sure I'll start taking naps once I'm older.

Nope because they'd screw up my sleeping schedule. My old health professor did say that taking naps throughout the day was apparently better than sleeping away 8+ hours, though? But either way, I'm just not a nap person. But if I'm extremely tired, I'll do it... so long as it isn't after 3PM since otherwise I'd fall asleep way too late at night x: Last time I napped was a year ago if I remember right.

Lol it's funny you posted this today. xD

I normally don't take naps. I would rather use my waking hours for other things. But every now and then, today being an example, I just feel myself start drifting off. usually it's after a long week or something, and I just feel tired and need a little extra rest. So if that happens, I will take a nap.

I have never taken a nap in my life. I remember when I was little my mother used to put me to bed at some points in the middle of the day, and I'd just spend like two hours lying there, bored as Hell, staring at the fan. I never once fell asleep. Likewise in pre-school, we had naptime in the middle of the day and I'd look around at everybody lying on the floor around me and they were all sleeping like logs and I'd just think "HOW ARE YOU SLEEPING?!" It was hard enough to get me to go to sleep at night when I was younger, let alone during the day.

Right now I have a strict 3am - 9am sleeping schedule, and then I'm fine until 3am the next morning lol. I've never felt the need for a nap, and I never feel tired. I stand by my words: naps are for the old :P that's why they call them "nanna naps". Well they do in Australia, anyway...

I kept a strict "never nap on a weekday" policy this past semester. Worked wonders for my performance. For me, naps screw with my momentum in too many ways to take them. Weekend? Feel free. Otherwise, no thanks. Messes with my sleep schedule, takes me too long to recover from mentally, or I miss something crazy going on around campus. Monday through Thursday, when I wake up (anywhere from 6 to 7:30am), I'm up until bedtime (anywhere from 11pm to 3am). Simple as that. Fresh fruit, ice water, exercise, or good ol' Starbucks get me through the after-lunch low. :)

I treat naps as speed bumps: they aren't necessary.

I take naps all the time when needed. Whenever I feel stressed about something, or I don't feel well, or maybe I just feel tired. I take it. What's weird is that my naps are quite fast... like an hour and a half to 2 hours or so, depending on myself. Yeah, they can mess up my sleeping schedule, but I'll get it back up and running again, though. xD

Naps are fun especially after a long day at school. And the feeling when waking up in the evening makes it worthwhile. :D

Actually, the standard adult's sleep cycle is ~90 mins. So having a nap and waking up 1.5 hrs later is right on the money. :D If you're worried about damaging your sleep schedule set an alarm to finish right after a 90 min cycle. The average adult takes 14 mins to fall asleep, IIRC, so plan accordingly.

I rarely nap during the day, but if I'm sick or exhausted, then I go to bed about 1hr 45 mins before dinner will be ready.

Nah, besides, I always have a hard time sleeping so I rarely take naps.

I hate taking naps, but sometimes I can't help myself from falling asleep. I've only had two naps this year, which is saying a lot. I hate the feeling of waking up from a nap. It isn't like waking up from being asleep the whole night. I wake up with my eyes feeling a little sore, and wanting to go back to sleep. And even if it'a just a few minutes, I end up having trouble going to sleep later at night.

I used to never be able to fall asleep unless it was approaching night-time and I was in something resembling a bed. Because of that, sleeping on planes and car-rides was always impossible, and unless the nap was also at night, I wouldn't think to do one.

Now, however, a good nap can be just what the doctor ordered. In order for it to work, I need to be ridiculously tired (either from a long night out/working or just from a general lack of sleep in general), but if any of the above criteria qualify, and I've got a few hours to kill, a nap can be just the thing to get me energized again. It needs to be for a good few hours to be successful, and if I wake up at the wrong time, my body clock just falls apart, but when done well, they're really good.

I often fall asleep during the day, unintentionally however, as I always feel that I'm wasting my time sleeping at daytime :/
I guess the reason is, that I always feel tired whenever I lie down, and then the rest just comes naturally.
