Cherrim that's basically what I did in 10th grade geometry it was just graph paper and making cool looking things for half the year then second half was square root, perimeter, etc.

We don't split math into individual sections until senior year here, so you do a little bit of algebra, a bit of geometry, etc. throughout all your classes in math up until then. (And you're only required to take math until grade 11 unless you need it for university applications.) Emphasis was on algebra though, I guess.

It seems so weird to me that you could have entire classes of just geometry and not be into the really interesting geometry by then. D:

Lol nope not really mine was the same way though only required to take it until 11th grade we had algebra1 freshman year and algebra2 junior year geometry was more of a goof of class at least that is how I felt.

for me, I took geometry freshman year, am taking algebra 2 this year, take pre-calc next year, and then I dunno what happens senior year actually. geometry was ♥♥♥♥in stupid. my teacher was pregnant so she had to leave halfway through the year, then we got some retired teacher who was pretty incompetent. I managed to maintain a good grade though.

algebra 2 is ridiculously simple, though. plus, my teacher's really good.

I've had senioritis since I was a sophomore. After having stellar grades my freshman year even drinking every morning and doing at least two sports at any time I decided my sophomore year I could sleep through any class and still pass. I only failed chemistry and everything else I passed with C's and above. I think school is really a joke until you get into college. Even with sleeping through most of high school I'm still getting into college, granted I have to go to Ivy Tech first to prove that I'm not a worthless piece of ♥♥♥♥ like I have been the last 3 years, Spring of next year I'll be either attending Ball State or DePauw which are perfect for what I want to major in.

And geometry was really the only class that challenged me because for us it was a double block class paired with Introduction to Engineering Design which was complete and total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, the teacher didn't even understand the subject material let alone the students. He would be like "yea so um we're gonna do this one thing, all it says is to uh click that button at the top and uh, I don't know what else to do after that so just try to figure it out." So dumb.

My high school career was awkward because I was in a private school till my Junior year, and went to a public school only for my Senior year.

Imagine being the only Senior in a class of Sophmores because you have to take Algebra 2 in your last year of high school D8 And almost failing the class cause you're bad a math DDDDD8

I recall I did not take algebra until my my senior year of high school. I admit that math was one area I struggled at in school. I did not have a problem with History. That was where I excelled. Speaking of things relating to history, today, which is April 15th, marks the 102nd anniversary of when the RMS Titanic sank.

I took algebra in my freshman year, if I remember correctly. Wouldn't say I was too bad at it. :3 Though, I did struggle a lot when it came to history; was pretty terrible at stuff like memorizing time of events, cause and effect of them, vocabulary, etc.

The math I struggled with the most was Geometry.. but then again, my geometry instructor wasn't the best one lmao

What did you struggle with? proofs?

Also I decided to take a summer course, called... Numerical computations. I don't even know what it really is.

Yeah, I did Algebra on my first year of high school. I get good grades for mostly all the subjects, however I struggle a bit with maths... Haven't gotten an A in math since grade school. I'm good at History, but I dislike it. I've had the same History teacher throughout my 4 years of high school and let me tell you, that teacher is horrible. Next year, I get to choose if I want to do history as a subject anymore, I'm definitely picking no.

There's actually a few cases in which 8th graders can skip Algebra 1 altogether and get credit for it and go straight to Geometry. Like 12 kids in my class when I was in 8th grade did that. Then they took Calculus their Junior year. Crazy stuff.

Taking calculus junior year was common in my particular high school - it was set up to put advanced students on a track that combined Geometry and Algebra 2 into one year (presuming you took Algebra 1 in middle school), so you could take Pre-Calculus in 10th grade, AP Calculus in 11th grade, and AP Statistics in 12th grade. Pretty strict.
