Biology and Chemistry were easy for me, but that doesn't mean I liked either of those.

Maths is something I do almost everyday. And I'm talking about matrices (hate messing with those) and integrals and complex numbers and the likes of those.

No one here recognizes the sheer superiority of Physics. /cries in a corner

Physics makes the most sense to me personally, because the basics of it is Calculus 1, with derivatives and rates and all that stuff. I find the way the math relates to actual real-world applications absolutely fascinating.

Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology...
Here in Germany we have one word for all of that;
NATURWISSENSCHAFTEN

Some languages I find most interesting happen to be dead languages such as Middle/Late Egyptian, Coptic, Latin, and even others such as old Greek and Phoenician as well as (the modern versions of) a lot of the far Eastern languages such as Chinese and Japanese.

As for my favorite Germanic language it would probably have to be (you guessed it) German. I hear it's a rather interesting language and some of the things Khilia has mentioned to me make me rather curious about it. :p

I always thought I really liked the idea of learning languages but when you get down to it, I don't actually think I like learning languages at all. (This probably should have been apparent to me ages ago when I had a huge list of languages that interested me and for years have put zero effort into learning any of them.) The only reason I've kept up with Japanese for so long is the ulterior motive behind it. (Playing video games, lol.)

I'm more interested in how languages evolve over time, where they split off from other languages, and the history of them. I wish my school had courses on stuff like that. :(

I was the same exact way for awhile before High School and I could pick a language. I wound up going with German for a number of reasons.

It's rather fun to know a language only a handful of people on PC can read and understand. I can say anything in Swedish and pretend it means something else, because you'll likely get the wrong translation if you try google translate or something anyways :p

I could say the same for Old Norse, but most of it sounds so much like English that I don't think it would be too hard to translate...

Well, that has a bit to do with how much emphasis that other countries put into learning a language at a young age. I think here in the US it's Middle School, and all that's offered is Spanish

Honestly, when I look at a language my brain divides it up among two categories: structure/usage and vocabulary. When I learn a language I see myself memorizing and mastering grammar and usage and then just slowly building a huge vocabulary while at the same time working a bit on a more natural accent for the language. That's all it is, really. \o/
