Holding her Litwick onto her lap, Mina kept watching the room in silence. All the people there were so different and she had only ever seen so many different types of Pokémon bundled up together in the Safari Zone. The girl kept mindlessly running her finger up and down her Pokémon's body as she was thinking about the journey ahead of them .
Being rather ticklish, Chibi soon begun squirming about, trying to evade her trainer's "tickle attacks", but to no avail. She then bounced about, trying to get Mina's attention, but the girl was so lost in her train of thought that she couldn't even feel the movement going on. The Pokémon huffed in frustration and clenched her tiny arms, gritted her teeth and closed her eyes as she puffed up her flame and aimed it at her trainer's finger, making the girl snap out of it because of the sudden pain.
"Chibi!" the girl spoke in a high-pitched tone, showing her annoyance. "That was so mean!" she went on, not realizing that she was being very loud.
The Litwick simply turned her back on her trainer and huffed triumphantly.
Mina soon realized she had been loud and blushed as she lowered her head and tried hiding behind her soft, chestnut locks. She quickly reached out for her backpack and pulled out a pretty-looking pink book. Peeking around her, she realized nobody was staring so she sighed in relief and opened the book.
Mina sighed and pulled Chibi closer to her. She couldn't understand why boys had to be boys at times. Was it SO HARD to simply wait in silence? The girl then leaned against the window frame and looked outside, uninterested in the commotion the two boys caused. She was just hoping they'll end it fast. She was wrong, however, as the two eventually engaged into battle, still yelling about at one another.
Mina turned around and figured she'd watch the battle anyways and she could immediately see that a guy that looked a lot like a Hiker and had a Rattata for a partner, immediately left, most likely due to being annoyed by the two loud boys. Her eyes quickly spotted a pretty looking black-haired girl engaging in conversation with a brown-haired boy that was sprawled across the floor. The pair soon left the room as well.
The battle between the two rude boys didn't last long, the boy that started it all and his Chespin having forfeited. Mina simply shook her head and turned her attention back to her Litwick that seemed to have spaced out, looking outside. The girl smiled and playfully poked the Candle Pokémon.
For a good couple of hours, the movement in and out of the room never ceased. Mina and her Litwick were already beginning to doze off when, all of the sudden, the room grew silent. The girl turned around from the window and was soon able to see why everyone's suddenly fallen into silence: Professor Lyra had made her appearance.

She quickly reached out for her backpack and pulled out a pretty-looking pink book. Peeking around her, she realized nobody was staring so she sighed in relief and opened the book.
"We're here at the Cianwood Complex and, so far, not much has happened. There's lots of trainers here and lots of Pokémon too. I'm so excited, but so nervous. What are we going to do?" the girl wrote down in the book which appeared to be a Journal.
Suddenly, a tall boy with blueish hair and purple eyes seemed to have lost his temper and outright yelled: "Oww, has nobody got anything to say?", causing all eyes to fall upon him, and, soon enough a brown-haired boy wearing a black, funny hat to rudely answer, causing a commotion.

"Seems like there's a couple of rude boys here and, apparently, I'm not the only one that's annoyed by them. Gosh, I just hope we won't have to travel together any time soon. Imagine all the noise these two could cause over whatever nonsense, for the sake of rivalry. Well, at least it's nice that they're becoming rivals… it can get one motivated, I guess." The girl went on writing in her journal.
As she finished writing and placed the pen back between the pages of the book, Mina's eyes fell upon the figure of a boy, closely followed by a Cyndaquill. He seemed eager to watch the battle. The girl smiled as she felt her curiosity starting to build up. There was something about this recently arrived person that seemed to intrigue her so she made a note in her mind to approach the boy when the timing was right.

Welcome to the world of Pokémon!

A woman in her forties, Lyra looks nothing like anyone would expect someone her age to. She is tall, has a slender figure and her style is….eccentric to say the least. Her hairstyle barely changed at all in all those years and it looks like it retained its beautiful, shining colour it had ever since the woman was a young Pokémon Trainer. She wears a pink, short dress, black fishnet stockings that seem to complement her overall outfit pretty well, black pumps with a moderately-sized heel, enough to give her a classy look while still being comfortable to wear. On top of her pink dress, she wears a long, white lab coat and, around her neck, she wears a locket that resembles a Pokéball. Inside the locket, she holds a picture of her and her husband, Silver whom she seldom gets to see due to both of their extremely busy schedules. The only hint of the woman's age is the fact that she wears glasses.
Being Elm's Assistant and a Pokémon Professor herself, Lyra never really had time for the big, happy family she's always wanted ever since she was a kid. She does, however, have a child, a 13 years old daughter that she spends hours talking on the PokéGear with every now and again. Her daughter's currently in the Kalos Region, challenging the Gyms there.
"Greetings and welcome to the world of Pokémon!" Lyra begins her speech and then giggles. "Just kidding." she then says and smiles warmly. "I am glad that so many of you have answered my call for help. As you've probably noticed yourselves, strange occurences have been observed throughout the entire region. Pokémon are changing habitat, moving from areas suitable for them to areas you wouldn't expect to see them in, unusual migrations and, at times, even aggressive behavior towards humans in general. On top of that, there's been rumors of poachers trying to take advantage of these occurences. " The professor shook her head and sighed as she clenched her fists. "We… we don't know just how bad things really are. Our research is keeping us bound here. That's where all of you come in. I need you to help me by filling these PokéDexes and by keeping me up to date with any and every unusual activity you see. "
After looking around the room once more, as if trying to make sure that everyone's still listening to her, Lyra walked over to the table in the middle of the room.
"As you can see, on this table, there's a number of Trainer Starter Kits that I've requested for each person agreeing to help me. You will receive a PokéDex, five pokéBalls, a Potion, 3000 P and a custom PokéGear, courtesy of Silph. Co. "
Picking up a PokéDex, Lyra quickly explained the interface. In terms of design, the PokéDex looked a lot like the older models, but once one flipped the top open, two screens, one top and one bottom would light up and a number of options would be listed on the bottom screen. The PokéDex has a Pokémon Party Reading function which lets a trainer see their party Pokémon info, such as gender, moves, wether or not the Pokémon is exhausted or in good health and wether or not it has a nickname. A small high resolution camera placed on the top side of the Dex automatically records encountered Pokémon, when the proper command is used. The trainer has the option to view 3D or 2D models of the registered Pokémon. Upon initial start up, a trainer is to complete their trainer Profile and pick either a Male or a Female Dex assistant.
Placing the Dex back on the table, Lyra took out her own PokéGear and explained its purpose.
"This is the latest version of the PokéGear. The PokéGear is a tool of utmost importance to any trainer as it can act as a phone, map, radio and much more by installing various PokéGear cards into it. The ones you see on the table in front of you were custom made by Silph Co that wished to get involved into our research and help the best they could. Each PokéGear is unique so, each trainer may pick the one that best suits them. There's no two Gears alike, so choose wisely. These Gears got the most basic cards installed: the Map Card, the Phone Card, the Time card which shows you the current season, day and hour and a Weather Card which shows the current weather as well as a weather forecast for the next three days. As you can see, tomorrow there's a chance to rain, but the weather's changing back to the way it is today after that. You will be able to install more cards into your PokéGears as you advance in your journey. Some PokéMarts might sell some, others you might obtain from people, some are given out as prizes. There's plenty to find so happy hunting.
Professor Lyra smiled kindly then placed her Gear back into her lab coat pocket, then proceeded to ask everyone to form a line and receive their starter pack as well as choose a PokéGear.
"After everyone's obtained their starter packs, you're more than welcome to spend the rest of the day here, at the complex. There's plenty to see and lots of Pokémon. If you wish to stay the night, we have a building specifically built to accommodate trainers that visit the complex. Should you wish to go back to Cianwood, you are free to do so, but you'd have to spend the night at the Pokémon Center and, since there's going to be a storm out at sea tomorrow and because of all the raining, the Ferry won't be leaving the docks until the day after." Lyra explained and then proceeded to make a list of all the trainers and their starter Pokémon.
