Joining PC

    What made you join PC? This forum consists of people who are interested in various different things. So the question, again, is: "What made you join pokecommunity.com?"

    My reason:
    I just got into hacking ROMs (Pokemon ROMs) and I needed tools. So I was searching for it (back in August 2007) and I got to this community. I noticed that only registered people could download the tools, so I registered. I wasn't this talkative when I first joined. :)

    So what are your reasons? Did you just stumble across this place and decide to join?
     
    I just wanted to help people with OW Spriting and download some Rom Hacks, that's all.
     
    I actually found PC on a place called RXN. I followed some of my friends there and came here, grew to like it and have been here since. I think I just joined because I wanted to have friends but now and now, I'm here BECAUSE of all those friends I've made. :3
     
    I considered joining the three most popular pokemon forums. They were:

    - Forum with adminastrator who doesn't log on for month, yet refuses to appoint another one.
    - Forum where the founder only promotes trolls to staff.
    - PC.

    Hard decision really.

    Let's see here... I think my brother found out about shiny gold last year. So I joined in Jun 2008 to download it (my first time playing any sort of rom hack). I never posted once until june of THIS year, however, because I finally got a DS and decided that this summer I would join everybody else that's in the 4th-gen. I ordered platinum two fridays ago and it should be coming next week some time. (Bought it for cheap from a hong kong power seller off ebay =D).

    So I decided to join the actual community because it seemed tons better than serebii and smogon (god I hate the mods there =/) and it was very active and such. I don't have any friends here, per se, (well I have two, one of them is a random friend invite I really dunno what to think) but it's really enjoyable seeing what everyone has to say about pokemon and otherwise. It's also nice to find people my age that are still really into this game and see it as a hobby or passion and not a kids game.
     
    After getting back into playing the Pokémon games I needed people to discuss my fave games with. So, on Feb 27th I google searched 'Pokémon Forums' and this was one of the first places that showed up on the results page.

    Epic, I know.
     
    I haven't the slightest clue. According to my posts on my first account, I was much more fixated on DBZ than anything else, and I didn't talk about Pokemon hardly at all. I was 16 and n00bish, and I really don't remember what my motives could have been. It was my first time joining a forum at all, so it's really a mystery. :/
     
    I wanted a forum where I could feel like I did when I was 11 years old and Pokemon ruled the world. I wanted that uninhibited feeling of joy in something so simple and so pure. I wanted to escape the cynicism of the world I live in day to day and spend time with people who are unabashedly enthused about something: Pokemon.
     
    I joined here originally to learn more about ROM-Hacking and then I gave up and become part of S&M.
     
    A friend referred me so I could join the PC Wi-Fi tourney...After that, we started our own tournament, I became more active, and the rest is, as they say, history ;D
     
    Haha, three words Pokemon. Shiny. Gold.
    Most people who joined for the game didn't stay, but I stuck around in the ROM section for over six months and then eventually ventured out.
     
    Well, I needed FC's so I could finish my pokedex on Diamond, so i googled "Pokemon forums" and ended up here, thought I would just complete my pokedex and leave, now I'm stuck here =P
     
    I was interested in Pokemon Roleplay, and when I googled roleplay's, this showed up. I garnered a curiosity toward Forums, so I gave it a shot. 3 years today, here I am.
     
    The Pokecommunity isn't actually my first forum. Before I was Gummy, I was some kid on a Megaman forum looking for nice custom sprites. The forum, like PC, had a Game Development forum which I visited frequently. One day, someone linked to a game called Pokemon Legends here at PC and me being the curious little Gummybear that I am, I clicked it. Little did I know that this simple act would have a profound effect on my future. The game itself looked amazing, but its creator was inactive so I knew from the start that this was a lost cause. I considered leaving this seemingly boring forum behind, but for some reason I decided to explore around. I eventually stumbled upon the fanfiction section and read up on Chibi Pika's Legendarian Chronicles. I was instantly hooked. This fic, along with Saffire Persian's The Ties that Bind, got me interested in fic writing. I mustered up the courage to write my own and allowed my first post (or my first important post) to be the prologue to the story. The rest, as they say, is history.
     
    Well, kinda wierd story here: I was looking over my brothers shoulder as he chatted away on ShoddyBattle. Suddenly, Dark_Azelf appeared, posting a pic of him self. Naturally, I was like... whoa, he's kinda hot, being the awesome person I am. I ignored the internet for a few months, until my brother was on their again. I kicked him off, and began talking. I joined here, and the rest is history~
     
    I just sort of .. stumbled across PC as I typed Pokemon into Google.
    I had been looking around the year before, but ... I don't know why I didn't join then but I'm glad I've joined now.

    How did i join ? I guess i have one of my ex-gf's to thank for this. I was going through a kinda messy break up with her, and i had just finished my GCSE's, so it was a really stressful time for me and i had nothing to take my mind off things, i think i was 16 at the time. So i picked up my old gameboy and play some pokemon which i hadnt picked up for years prior, immediately i got hooked on the pokemon games again. One day i was looking through google for some walkthroughs on my computer and i came across the PE2K forum and although intimidated by actually joining i had nothing better to do so i decided, "why the heck not ?" I then found more forums just like pe2k via google, which is the time when i came across the pokecommunity and decided to join here too. As soon as i joined i noticed it was really friendly here and decided i preferred it here to PE2K, and although i lurked and didnt post much at first i quickly became interested in competitive battling and decided to research things before i rushed head long into posting a RMT. After learning as much as i could I quickly became a regular in S+M. ^^
