Open world games are difficult to create. You want to give people something to explore, something that actually rewards people for doing so. But you also need to incorporate everything in such a way that it is believable in the world that you're presenting. Lots of games kinda fail in at least one of those two aspects. And if you're a modern Zelda game you fail at both. :P
