Idk I really like history. I've always loved learning about it. From the beginnings of civilisation, passing through the medieval ages, to the wars and conflicts that countries went through and that some are going through to this day, I've always found it such an interesting subject to obsess over. Except when the teachers forced me to memorize story bits and dates and names to use them in one test and then never again, saying that "IT'S IMPORTANT!!!" (It wasn't)
The next subject I'm going to learn about in History class now is about the Empires in medieval Africa. I've never learnt anything about African history, other than, you know, colonisation and slavery and stuff, and that kinda sucks. Plenty of people (myself, for the longest time, included) get such a wrong and generalised vision of the continent as a whole because of this, I believe. I always say that, when you don't learn about a subject, it's easier for you to fall for misconceptions and misinformation about it, so I think this is gonna be good for me. Plus, I'm actually very interested to know about the history of the African countries individually, so I'm definitely excited for that!
