I don't watch very many movies at all. Besides getting into the MCU because of my bf a couple years ago I could probably count the amount of movies I've watched on one hand. Detectives are something I always thought were cool but never really ended up getting into. The closest I've gotten into murder mysteries are visual novels like Ace Attorney and Danganronpa.

My parents used to always watch lots of detectives and stuff like Law & Order, NCIS etc.. They're not my favorite, but I guess I'm used to them =P

A little late on this response (the topic has kinda moved away).

As someone who also watched the entire MCU, it's an example of something being mainstream but clearly not being the best the movie industry has to offer. I liked the MCU. But I also understand why people feel superhero fatigue. The genre has been spotlighted for over a decade.
