LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transexual) anyone?

I didn't necessarily mean to make anybody feel bad. D:

Just kidding really...you know what they say about sarcasm on the Internet. XD

In fact, I share the same sentiment about trans folk as Paul. they're kind of a fascinating psychological subject. There's a very sexually open forum I visit occasionally where I learn a lot about what goes on in the minds of trans folk (and other people that fall into non-heteronormative labels). :P

It's true ~ I am very fascinating psychologically ;D

Holy crap, as far as I can remember this is the first thing we've ever agreed on, Sarah. XD

I wish you the best of luck, Kon. It's never easy to say it, so I applaud your courage.

I'd like to know how it works out. Please post again when you have the chance. :)

Well, I've posted three status' about it, and no one has noticed yet - just sent a fourth, so here's hoping. :)

I hope things go good for you.
I've seen lots off people lose friends and be disowned by parents over this so I'll pray you're not one of those.

Thanks so much. :)

Well... so far, the only person who has noticed is my sister and she thought it was a joke and that I'd been Facebook-raped, so she was laughing, and I didn't know what to say (I can't do anything face-to-face because she's at uni on the other side of the country) so I'ma let her laugh it off, because I know that eventually she'll realise I'm being serious.

I think I'll be a bit more comfortable when other people take notice, like my best friends, because I know they'll understand, but I have to admit, when that chat box popped up, I pooped myself a little. -.-'

To me, you posting 4 notices is just kinda.. unnecessary. People probably saw the first, but not many people are gonna flock to post to it besides close friends because, to be honest, the general population doesn't care what your sexuality is. Honestly, I wouldn't be flipping if someone if my class came out of the closet. I'd probably notice it, think "hey that's good for that person" and then forget about it.

I think you posting so many just is a bit much if it's all at once and just kinda like.. "asking to be noticed" in a way.. which does NOT go over well to a lot of people especially if they're homophobes. Plus it kinda puts you in a position of looking a bit attention-whorish even if you're not that sort of person.

Either way, congrats on coming out, and I hope stuff goes well with family and friends.

And as a sidenote.. holy heck this thread has tons of replies.

You're probably right, but they were all about an hour and a half apart and the first two were during a loud spell where they dissappeared within minutes, so I sorta felt it necessary - because, to be honest, the point is for someone to notice. That's kinda the point of coming out :/

But anyways, thank you for the support! Seriously, everyone on this thread is always so supportive of ANYONE and that makes me so happy. :D

Yeah, that's totally understandable if it was during a loud spell, but in that case I'd almost wanna delete the last status and repost it cause you don't want anyone that you're not really good friends with (such as acquaintances) to be like "omg this girl wants drama!! *ignore*" or something. I just didn't want it to backfire on you.

I'm super happy that you did come out and it was in a good way. You should keep us updated on the situation and no matter what, be true to who you are.

Good luck!

Yeah, that's the problem with coming out on Facebook. People will automatically assume that the status update is a prank played by a friend.

If you set your actual preferred sex to say that, than it might be taken more seriously. But probably not because people probably aren't going to even look that far into it. =/

I actually had a friend who took somebody's prank (on somebody else) seriously. He was like "So did you know that *person's name* is gay?" and I'm like "There's no way." I looked at the person's Facebook and it was obviously a prank.

My friend... I do not get him. >_>

Hearing that some of us used facebook to come out kind of made me wish I had one, but the more I read and think about it the more I'm fine not having one. Not to bash anyone's methods - you do what you're comfortable doing - but with pranks and such it feels like not a very serious place to come out. I don't know. Maybe that's a good thing, not taking it so gravely serious.

Anyway, congrats, Kon.

That's funny how people choose to "come out" online over talking to the family and just moving on.

Congrats Kon, hopefully it all goes well and people realise it's not a prank. In retrospect Facebook may not have been the best idea but it's still a big step. Coming out sure ain't easy but it feels so much better once its off your chest. Took me ages to get the guts to do so and even then when I told the parents it took a good dose of Dutch courage on top of that.

I really don't know when and how to come out...it feels like I just cant do it.
What's your situation like? Do you have anyone close you can talk to?

The family might make you an offer you can't refuse react badly and if you still live with your family it could be very awkward and difficult to get up the courage to tell them face to face.
