Makeup

For me I disagree about make up hiding your truth selve and etc.
I wear makeup because I like makeup. I find it fun and yes it does make me feel more attractive as I used to have bad acne but that was because I used to have a bad diet.
But I wear makeup because I like experimenting with different eye shadows and different lipsticks. Makeup makes me feel more confident about myself and its a routine to me. I started wearing makeup because of some nasty boys in the class calling me ugly but now I just enjoy wearing makeup and collecting makeup.

Besides most girls I know wear makeup anyway.

I think makeup is almost like a form of arts!
There is some make up artists who can do wonderful stuff!

And we can wear make up for our self and for no one else. My boyfriend don't panic when I am not wearing any make up XD Like I won't panic if I have to go out and I didn't had time to put some make up on. But most of time I like to have it, for myself.

People do not live any less just because they have an expressed interest in makeup. I actually don't know many (if any) women who wear makeup because they are uncomfortable with their natural face. Makeup is just plain fun, simple as that. It's literally an art form, and it is always fun imo to get a new piece of makeup to try out. I only wear makeup once or twice a week because of my job, but if I could I would wear it more often, just for the sole reason that I find it fun and enjoy it. I like my natural face as much as I like my face when it's made up.

Moon Prism Power... Make Up!

As a male I don't think girls wearing makeup is a bad thing. Like some other artificial stuff it tends to get attacked by some people (especially elderly or ultrareligious people who still fail to adapt). If used properly, it boosts the facial appearence and ultimately makes the girl wearing it give a deeper "chic" effect. She becomes hotter, y'know.

As for men... eh I don't have anything against that but I never tried it lol.

Eh... I don't really wear makeup at all. The last time I wore makeup of any sort was when I was a little kid and wore lip gloss and painted my nails occasionally because they made my fingernails look shiny. I'm fine with my freckles and blemishes and I'm fine with everyone else's too.

I don't really dislike makeup, especially when it's done well. There's this cashier at the supermarket that always applied different combinations of mascara and such and looked very good with it. The only real problem I have is when someone puts on too much makeup all over and every blemish and freckle they have disappears. It sorta freaks me out a little bit, I guess because I'm used to seeing imperfection in things, and it doesn't quite feel right when I see a person's face so unrealistically perfect and grainy.

as someone who will most likely begin gender transition by year's end, makeup is both fun and a necessary evil. fun because, well, contouring brings out my cheekbones to a level that i am proud of and accentuates some of my more easily identifiable feminine facial traits. at the same time, i have a fair bit of disdain for it as it's often pressured upon trans women as an essential part of 'normal' femininity and another step on the path to 'assimilation'. it's a simple truth that the less typically feminine you look, the harder the road ahead is going to be. and that feeds back to contemporary femininity as a whole, not just trans girls.
in any case, sometimes i just want to look good without considering gender theory lmao

I can understand Melody and Harley's explanations, I think in those situations it makes a lot of sense.

It bothers me though, when women feel that they can't be beautiful without make-up. I have one friend in particular, who has been told she's unattractive or made fun of for being small in various ways, that doesn't feel comfortable being seen without make-up. That bothers me.

This might sound weird from me but it bothers me that some people don't feel beautiful without it. It bothers me that as a society we have these unreasonable expectations that lead to on the minor end of things make-up and on the major side cosmetic surgery.

So I say this to all women (and men I guess) that feel the same as my friend. You're not going to be attractive to every person you meet, nobody is. This doesn't mean you aren't beautiful in and of yourself. If someone requires you to change before they can find you attractive, they can go fuck themselves because you deserve better.

I see the use of makeup as art. Some artists use paper and pen, some artists use words, some use paint and some use makeup brushes!

I personally do not wear much makeup, if any at all. Lately, my face has been breaking out pretty bad and I don't like to go to work with giant red dots all over my face, so I do cover these up, but it's not like I'm self conscious about it. The stuff I've been wearing lately is a very light cover up with SPF (I think it's called "Better Than BB Cream", so not sure what it is).

Maybe once or twice a year I will wear eye makeup.

I definitely see this in most of my family. Family women and a few friends I know won't even dare step out of the house without makeup. This is quite strange to me. It's also sad that some of them are so self conscious about it.
