6th Gen Mega Evolutions Discussion and Speculation

I think they should be, but since the Mewtwos need different items for both forms, and you need an event item that comes with the Torchic to get a Mega Blaziken, it'd be more difficult to complete your Pokedex.

When you look at the Pokedex, there is an upgrade to switch between the Pokemon's forms and shows all the possible forms in which you have seen. This is where they'd be listed for those specific Pokemon. They aren't new Pokemon themselves so they wouldn't get any new Pokedex info.

With this topic in mind, I do have to ask WILL they even appear in the Pokedex even under this though? I assume so...but nagging feeling.

Mega Forms change back to normal form when a battle ends.
 
I'm thinking they will probably just be in another page kinda like they did for other Languages and Genders.
 
Aesthetically, mega ampharos is my favourite. I've heard mixed reactions but for me its looks majestic. It reminds me of Buu in dbz with its innocent and kind of sheepish expression like its unaware of its awesome power and luscious locks.

Based on stats/abilities etc. i'd say i'm most excited to use mawile. The ability huge power with 85 base attack (assuming it doesn't get an attack increase) will be mental.

Even though it would never happen, a mega bouffalant stood on two legs like a minotaur and twice as big an afro would be the icing on an already seemingly delicious cake.

So far...apparently I was right about them losing stats when they go into their mega form. We haven't seen all of them, but

. So it really does look as if they could lose stats to make up for the heightened boosts to other stats.

Meloetta I do not see since she already has form change ability and adding a Mega form would pull away from her inherited ability. If it already has a form change I believe there is a severely low chance of getting a Mega Form. They'd have to make one for both if they made her which would be very weird.

I have to say this one looks really awesome. I was never a fan of Abomasnow to begin with, but this design could make me like it more. The crystals on it definitely represent that Ice-type a bit better, but all and all I say this is a really great design and I'm hoping it'll be real.

My friend showed me this image and I personally think it's really cool. I was thinking Abomasnow would get a Mega evo cause it is pretty popular and I'm really liking how it turned out. It looks pretty stacked so maybe it gains more defense?

This definitely seems to be the case, given they are mostly just forms and not an individual Pokemon.

You know, I think you might be right there Xander. When it was announced that Mega Evolutions would have an increase in certain stats, I had a feeling they'd lose a bit in some stats to compensate for the stats of theirs that got boosted by the Mega form.
