Real Name: Tenmas Noire
Real Age: 21
Real Gender: Male
Real Appearance:
Tenmas is a young man who is usually seen with a wrench and a patch of oil on his cheek for good measure. His mother and father were both automobile repairmen, and Noire is no different; hence his usual wearing of a thick navy blue shirt and pants, his name written in a cursive red on his left shirt pocket. He has a round face and deep green eyes, as well as long blonde hair which is scruffy and under a pair of goggles; it reaches the edges of his shoulders, and is usually in a ponytail for convenience. He has freckles encompassing the space above his nose, and a bit of peach fuzz on his chin. Usually he is wearing a long, striped orange and yellow scarf. He is 6' 5", or nearly 1.9 meters.
His automobile repair outfit is usually baggy enough to ignore the bit of muscle he's put on, but Tenmas doesn't mind anyhow; he's not looking for bragging rights. He is slim besides that, and his skin is pale and unmarked. He does have a scar running across his left hand, but that is of no concern to him; automobile business sees this kind of injury sometimes, and it's become customary for that to happen at least a few times in his life. When he is not wearing his automobile repair outfit- which, so you know, comes with brown leather shoes- he wears a short sleeved dark green shirt and khaki shorts. During colder times, he wears long brown cargoes, and a blue jacket along with an orange scarf. These obviously alternate; but generally, this is what you'll see him in.
Personality:
Although making cash via the automobile repair industry, Tenmas actually prefers robotics as well as the computer industry; his strengths are within the area, and he feels- much to his parents' chagrin- that he isn't cut out for cars. Also to his parents' distaste, he's been enveloped in video games and such for much time; his cheerful attitude usually downplayed in his light brown room when he's surrounded by gizmos and computers. He actually is quite optimistic and cheerful, although slow to approach to most people. He has six brothers and sisters [3:3 ratio, including Tenmas, 4:3], but he is the youngest child. His parents think of him as their last hope to run the automobile business; granted one of his brothers has volunteered, but is still in college. This has led him to become studious to accomplish this imposed goal and very well-versed in mechanics, which he has a slight liking for but isn't too interested in.
Tenmas has much cheer- when devoid of sarcasm- and this usually spreads to others; what doesn't spread is his lack of taste and smell. He is devoid of these two senses, which are things he has regained in MAO. Therefore, everything is delicious to him in-game, including burnt food. Yes. Even burnt food is interesting to him... and the smell of trash doesn't phase him, as he has never smelled. So if he compliments you on your food, or your smell, take it lightly unless he describes it. His default facial expression- before spoken to- is serious. He doesn't want to be a madman, so he doesn't smile when he's walking without any reason to do so.
He's known for his generally seeming naive; however, he can quickly prove to be quite the opposite. On that note, he is quite skeptical- if anything, the only thing that rivals his cheer is his occasional burst of skepticality. He is also quite the sarcastic, and much of his remarks can easily be chalked up as sarcasm- although he tends to be nicer than it makes him sound. He also has an interest in the taste of peanut butter, as he once knew a mute who loved it. And, unlike some of the players he knows, he is in no rush to get out of MAO.
As a side note, he has, via much practice, perfected the power of negotiation. Or, alternatively and as a last resort, fraud.
History:
As you already know, Tenmas is the youngest of a line of seven including himself; and his parents, after his cesarean birth, committed to the their memory to never have another child. Ever. They were also determined to make him the child who became the mechanic- as retirement was never too far off. At an early age, they tried to get him into cars. He actually wasn't really ever enticed in cars; unless they were remote control. In his elementary school years, he was decent. He never really got the best grades, but they were respectable enough to call him a better student than most. This, of course, was until junior high.
In these years, Tenmas was pressured into taking his studies with more seriousness than ever; his mother and father had told him to study as hard as he could, and study he did. He quickly became a top-notch student. In his junior year of high school, however, his parents realized the effect that was occurring within him that had gone through many of his siblings; he didn't want to simply be a mechanic. He wanted to be something more. This led them to forbid him from going to college; nevertheless he still did so, but promised to work part time. His parents noted that this was better than nothing, and thus agreed to this arrangement.
Tenmas, after a while, realized his interest in something which wasn't too far along from mechanics: Computers and Robotics. Or rather, at least it wasn't in his mind. So, when the NerveGear was announced, the first thing on his mind was to get it, at any cost. At release, the day before, he lined up at the local store in his home city of New York- as it always was- entering and exiting quickly with his copy of MAO and the NerveGear. He became a "hardcore" player quickly with both the university to study and the repair shop to help out at- however, he claims to have felt no mental or physical repercussions. He also has multiple blueprints on the NerveGear, how it works, and how to replicate one; however, he can only speculate for the most part because he wants to beat MAO before hand, and he doesn't know if the NerveGear will trap him in the game or something because he's messed with it too much.
...Oh wait, he's already trapped.
Avatar Alias: Locke
Avatar Age: 19
Avatar Gender: Male
Avatar Appearance:
Locke and Tenmas share a lot of similarities; however, there are three major differences:
- The hair. While Tenmas's falls to his shoulders and a bit farther in it's scruffy manner, Locke's hair isn't too long at all, reaching the ends of his face and a few centimeters farther. It is also a bit on the orange side rather than blonde, but this doesn't bother him much.
- The clothing. Locke wears a gray, short-sleeved hoodie- that he doesn't even know how he got. He feels that it's a contradiction, but he keeps this note to himself. He wears a long yellow- but solid yellow- scarf as well as brown shoes. His pants fall under the section known as "brown cargo shorts." For swimming, a plain navy blue pair of swimming trunks do the trick. If it's cold, he wears a black coat lined with what is advertised as Mareep wool [take that, PETA!] and blue jeans instead, but his yellow scarf is still there.
- He is much shorter, reaching to about 5' 11."
But besides that, he's much like Tenmas. Except maybe cleaner. Really? Yes, really. Even the scar is present, which is pretty unusual to begin with.
MAO Summary:
Locke started in Kalos- which wasn't really his original game plan. In fact, it was a mistake on the menu; he had meant to pick Kanto, but they looked so similar at that moment- considering his excitement for the tastes of the food and the smells of the area. Granted, he picked up a Fennekin as his starter, got a Pikachu on the way, and because of this breezed through the first gym. Infestation [the move] was a problem, but this didn't really bother him. After this, he quickly moved on to Lumiose, located the airport, and hightailed it out of there... after looking at Central Lumiose during the night.
However, Locke wasn't attached to his Fennekin; this led to a heartfelt trade at the crack of dawn with a Unovan trainer when he arrived at Cerulean City; his Braixen for a Servine. This was actually the hardest thing to pull off, hands down, ever- but somehow Locke convinced the guy to trade and didn't lose his heart in the process. After that, they've exchanged messages and Locke is working on a way to get his Braixen without losing the Servine. After some training in Mt. Moon, however, in a Pokemon Center during night, Locke received a faithful message.
And this is where our story begins.
