2nd Gen Mr. Pokemon

In Johto, there's a man named Mr. Pokemon who raves about a new discovery. This prompts Elm to give you a Pokemon to go meet him. Later, he will also give you an EXP. Share if you give him a Red Scale that you obtain after defeating/capturing the Red Gyarados.

He will also give the player a Red or Blue Orb in HG/SS after getting the National Dex.


What did you think of Mr. Pokemon? Did you give him the Red Scale?

Don't really have much to say about Mr Pokémon since his involvement in the games is pretty limited. Kind of wish his house was a little easier to access so that you could get the Exp Share and Red/Blue Orb without having to cut the bush near his house or go through the tall grass outside his house every time you go to see him.

I remember giving Mr. Pokemon a Red Scale.

Always give him the scale.

Just always thought he was an oddball.
Living in the middle of a route, a route with no real landmarks, or points of interest.

You'd think if he's so into weird pokémon things he'd live on Route 34 near the Day Care where he got the Togepi Egg.
Or, near the Lake of Rage where shiny Pokémon appeared.

Was there ever any reason to not give him the scale?

Could be that some people didn't care about getting the Exp Share. Otherwise, no.

Was there ever any reason to not give him the scale?

I mean, some people could just...forget that this is a thing, lmfao. I know I didn't think about it for awhile when I played HG/SS the first time.

Was there ever any reason to not give him the scale?

When I was younger I though Red Scale is the item you need to evolve Seadra to Kingdra, so I didn't give it to him.
