    one of my friends is telling me about how he was confronted by a guy a couple of hours ago, solid gold ball in place of one of their eyes, and forced to buy the guy's mixtape before he would stop pestering him. coincidentally, it's apparently pretty good!

    have you ever bought or been pressured into buying a mixtape/similar item from someone off the street?
     
    no i dont think ive been pressured to buy something off the street. but sales reps have pressured me into "upgrading" my purchase with whatever else they suggest goes well with what i want to buy. sometimes i say no and sometimes they talk so fast im just like uh ok...
     
    there are a lot dudes from high school who always wanted to be rappers that always try to get people to listen to their mixtapes and "albums" by doing this. they'd be everywhere from high school/university sporting events to the grocery store parking lot trying to get people to take one. though i don't ever think anyone has tried to sell one, it's usually just "take one and spread the word my guy" or something like that.
     
    My town is so white bread I don't think people here would know what a mixtape is.

    But, like, people asking for you to donate to charity and stuff, there's a few of them, but I try to walk past or cross the street to avoid them.
     
    When I was in college there was once this one guy walking around offering various religious and philosophical texts. I don't remember what exactly I was doing at the moment but whatever it was I apparently had the time to stop and listen. I was actually going to get some of these, thought it might be slightly interesting to have a few of these laying around.

    Then he asked for my credit card and I was like "lol nope"
     
    there's this guy who travels to all the gastations selling CDs and perfume and cologne but it's mostly bootlegged stuff lol
