Do you go by a nickname? I don't mean a shortened version of your name; will for William, for example. A nickname some friend or family member dubbed you because you did something, look like someone, etc.

I was called Quarter when I was a kid, because my grandpa used to equate my name (Nicole) with the word nickel, and he used to tell me, "You're not worth a nickel, you're worth a quarter!" Kinda mean now that I look back on it but it was cute at the time lol.

I was called "Mr. Magoo" during my childhood, but nowadays, some people call me "Matt."

My grandfather used to call me Cool Dude. I don't know why, other than that he noticed early on that I was an exceptionally cool dude. I asked my dad if he called me anything when I was younger, and he thought a while and started saying things and Drooly was something that came out. Now I've coined the name Mr. Wonderful, which some people actually call me!!

My name (Natalie) sucks for nicknames. I basically just get "Nat," which is pretty much the standard go-to nickname anyone has for me. Oddly enough, none of my closest friends use it and just call me by my full name instead. It's usually adults (ex. my boss) who are like "o hay Nat" and I'm "o hay didn't know we were on nickname basis now cool." So I guess you can tell I'm not fond of "Nat", haha.

    Ummm what are some others

Kelsey (Kyoko) calls me "Bat" because she accidentally typoed "Nat" on MSN once and it stuck, haha. In grade five, I was known as "Nats", "Nathan", and "Natlee" by some friends and idk where they came from but I'm glad they're gone now lol. Sometime in elementary school, I was known as "Star" because some of my friends and I used nicknames to pass notes in class so teachers wouldn't know who we were or something and that's what I was called. One of my best friends called me "woman" in grade eleven because of some ongoing somewhat sexist inside joke we had. XD; Aaaaand that's all I can think of right now, my friends come up with some weird but short-lived nicknames for me omg.

When I was little (and even sometimes now) my Mum and Aunt would call me "Boozie". The "oo" sound is short, like in "book", so it has no relation to booze like alcohol lol. I honestly don't know how they came up with it or what it's meant to mean... that's just what they called me lol.

    Enough jokes for today.

I have so many name shortened nicknames or name combined ones and so few randomly given ones. The only one I can think of is Smooth D which was my "street name" when I was in middle school. Now I only know of two people who even remember it never mind call me by it.

I have a few nicknames actually but there are a few that have taken over my actual name. The main one thats replaced my actual name is James. I don't really know why this is, I've asked teachers and all those sort of people who call me it and they just say I look like a james. Another one that I have is Dafydd. This one came around when my friends watched Little Britain and said how much Matt Lucas looked like a fat version of me :x Another one that I have with friends is Davie, I think I came up with this one because Davie is just an awesome name but I dont reallt remember xD Then theres the oldest nickname I have. My family all call me Day Day because when I was little I couldn't say my full name properly and would always come out as Day Day Don Dames. It kinda embaressing when my sisters shouting Day Day across the street at me :(

I was called E-Mail by similar-aged cousins and friends during my childhood. My name was unpronounceable by kids, so yeah. Now, no nicknames. Old people here hate it when we call each other by a name other than the name given by our parents, haha.

A lot of my friends call me JStor, and it has a nice double meaning. It's both a contraction of my real name and an online journal archiving system. Indeed, two sets of friends came up with the name completely independently of one another, so it must have some inherent popularity in it. My parents (and a lot of PC people, actually) call me Jon, which is another contraction of my name - and not my name itself, but apart from those two, that's about it, really.

I've had my fair share of nicknames in the past. Big E and Dark Horse were two of them and I have no idea why I was given those nicknames (only one person called me by those names though). Sometime when I was eighteen years old, I gave myself the title of Overlord which my friends / associates both on and offline refer to me as. I have an on line nickname of Vandy too but only a select few people on a forum I used to admin knew me by that name. Vandy is the nickname of my favourite Yu-Gi-Oh card, "Van'Dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord".

Well, my nickname (Gibby) derived as a shortened version of my last name (Gibson). However, over the years since then, I still go by Gibby more often then any other name, and it's even creeping into my family some as a name that I go by all over.

In a few special places, I have a few friends that call me variations of Gibby as well. One such work friend calls me GibGib, while an old school friend calls me Gibster. I've also been called Giblet and on rare occasions Gabby. :3

    GibbyGibson

People call me either Vic or (surprise!) Went, which are both corruptions of my name, Víctor. Not only I don't mind, but I use them everywhere, as you can see :P

Although I dislike being called by my real name, I don't really go by any nickname. Some friends have called me Li or Lizzles. My mom sometimes calls me Scooter because I usually walk fast. Many internet friends call me Blade. I used to go by Angel online. Please, never call me Twilight online. </3

My mom calls me Bob Dylan (who she named me after). My friends sometimes either call me Dil Pickle or DIE-LAN. Another nickname I had back in high school was "Dylan Delicious". Thankfully no one calls me that anymore.

Only friends who I've met online call me Gonzo, but they soon start using my name, lol. I don't like when people try to shorten my name too. I don't mind being called Gonzo, neither my real name. it just sounds weird when they try to modify my name somehow O.o"

Back in my high school wannabe gangsta days, I used to attach "-Dogg" to the end of my actual name and go by that name. But that was years ago and my very short name definitely doesn't lend itself well to nicknames. I haven't gone by a nickname in years.

Back when I was in elementary school everyone called me Luke Skywalker due to my first name being the same as that of the famous jedi and thus I was subjected to puns so cheesy I often wondered how these kids ended up with such unholy retardation in the first place TBH lol.

Nowadays though I usually go by the nickname Ven although I'm called Reven and Itachi as well on a fairly common basis too.

I have freaking amassed nicknames over my entire life, which is not surprising considering my given name is Donavann, which is a mouthful for most people. Nicknames I have include Don, Donnie, Donny (phonetically the same as "Donnie"), Don Don, Big D, Vann, Donin, Donno, DJ, and several others I don't remember right now but are in a thread similar to this one from two years ago.
