Alright so I'm going to split up my post into a few parts, so it's more organized :P
First up are the list of spells that I can use. As a note, I can only use one spell a night and each spell once a game. With a slight exception you'll see in a moment ^^
Hex: I get to choose a player and they will be roleblocked at night. I have a 1/3 chance of it succeeding as intended. A 1/3 chance of it failing outright, and a 1/3 chance I hit someone at random instead.
Mystify: I get to confuse players at night, switching the targets of intended actions. Essentially, a driver ability for a single night (totally cool, since I never got to do this before, even on EM). The odds are a bit weird, but it goes like this:
- I have a 1/4 chance of both targets being who I'm declared in my PM
- I have a 1/4 chance of it outright failing
- I have a 1/4 chance of one of my declared targets being changed to someone at random
- I have a 1/4 chance of both of my declared targets being changed at random
Dark Matter: Very simple, I pick someone and they die. This can be used at any point, including during the day (before/after I use an NA, included!). I basically have a 1/4 chance to: kill my target, kill myself, kill someone at random or fail to kill at all.
note: I really didn't intend to use it at first, but I was given reason to try my luck fairly early in the game. ^^
Necromancy: I literally get to bring someone back from the dead! :D I have a 50/50 chance of it succeeding and making them an innocent. A 1/4 chance of them being brought back as a randomly generated third party role and a 1/4 chance of it failing. And no, I don't know the result of the resurrection unless it's confirmed by others :(
Clarity: I get to publicly reveal a player's role/alignment. Of course I run the risk of revealing myself, someone at random or failing. :P
Gather Ingredients: I spend the night looking for ingredients to cast my spells. This is the exception I was talking about earlier: if I cast this and it succeeds I can reuse my spells I have already used once more. If it fails though, I am unable to use any more spells for the rest of the game. Maybe I get like... lost in the woods D:
Invisibility: I get to make someone turn "invisible" for a night phase, preventing them from being killed. I have a chance to protect them, kill them, do nothing, or protect someone at random.
Unknown: Basically what the title is. I don't even know what it does, but here is the flavour text I got:
"Your ultimate, personal spell. Do you have all the proper ingredients to cast this? How will this spell turn out? Who knows? You'll just have to see!"
So no, I don't know its effects or chances of succeeding/failing. Super hesitant to use x_x
Now for the second part, where/when/who my actions were used on:
Night 0: I had no information and only one-time use abilities that were random. I decided against tempting fate and abstained.
Night 1: After GP's reveal, he seemed confident he lived, but I really didn't want to take the chance. So I used my protect spell on him. Turned out a waste since he got converted then anyways. Not to mention he wasn't even Bowser, and said hero died regardless. I admit to messing this night up. ;-;
Day 1: Because I had visited gp on the same night as two others (one being Merlin/Bowser Jr.) I found out Merlin was Bowser Jr. And rolled the dice with my kill spell.
Night 2: So this is where I couldn't resist trying to use my driver ability. I used it on Juno and Austin/White Mage. Unfortunately though, I didn't get to experience the fun part of messing with people - since everyone got roleblocked said night. ><
Night 3: So I thought it would be funny if I could revive Bardothren (especially after hearing the talk in UGSC or the DCC?) and did so on this night. He did get revived, but as you can tell from my ability and my questioning of him on the day he came back, I'm not 100% sure if he is innocent with us, or was brought back as that random 3rd party role.
Night 4: I went and roleblocked Mana, convinced he was mafia by that point. Even if Klippy was sketchy, he was right in calling out Gunner, and multiple people did seem to eye Mana. We could be wrong, but I figured it was worth at least trying to roleblock him. Now, an issue is, I don't know if I actually roleblocked him or hit someone else or failed.
As you can see, unless my ability gives me some sort of feedback (like an investigation role would get), I don't always know the result of my abilities. For all I know, I protected someone other than GP on night1? Maybe I didn't roleblock Mana on the previous night? I do know I revived Bard, I just don't know his alignment. Although it is a 2/3 chance he is inno, if my math is correct? o_O
I also want to apologize to anyone I may have screwed up if my roleblock hit them instead of Mana. :(
edit: I'm glad you came out and tried to claim my role though, Mana. It made it clear-cut now to me (and everyone else) that you're mafia. Sorry mate, but your game is done :)
