No, you aren't suppose to be this type!

I agree to most changes mentioned above, but I can't believe Stunfisk wasn't mentioned here. It's a fish, but it's weak to the water it swims in. What were they even thinking? Looking at the moves it can learn, the type may seem to be in place, but I simply wonder how the Pokémon makes any sense.
 
Charizard still not a Dragon-type? Where did it go wrong at Nintendo? He is able to learn several Dragon-type moves, looks and feels like a dragon but still doesn't have the type. He can still have his flying moves without being forced to be a Flying-type.

Grovyle Grovyle and it's evolution should have been a Grass/Fighting for me. Leaf blade doesn't fully feel like a Grass-type move, which is his signature move after all.

For me Porygon and it's evolutions always felt like Electric-type Pokémon. They had the ability to use strong moves that were Electric-type and they were able to control technical machines and enter computer worlds... What more?

I can understand why Porygon and Castform are Normal-type as they are man-made Pokémon! But yeah Porygon can be an Electric-type too!

Speaking of Electric-type, as mentioned on the Helioptile line, it shouldn't be part-Normal. If there's anything, it should be Electric and Dragon-type, in my opinion.

Probably because it generally appears in cold water. As a reference to Poképark where Lapras brings you to the 'Iceberg Zone' because only he is capable of swimming through the water. Most Water-types are able to learn moves like blizzard, ice beam etc, but I regard Lapras as an Ice-type too.

Yes, something like that as Lapras can be found in the frigid areas like Icefall Cave from Floe Island.

But it's still a mystery why it was created to be an Ice-type when Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster, isn't 'living' in an icy area like the polar region (Loch Ness does get snowy in the Winter seasons, though).
 
I agree with a lot of the ones mentioned, especially Golduck being part psychic. I've also fallen for the 'use bug or dark moves on Golduck' one many times before XD Also Lugia. Why he's not a water type is a mystery =/ Goodra should be part poison. In fact, it would make more sense to have Goomy and Sligoo as pure poison then gain dragon typing on evolving into Goodra.

The Flabebe line should have grass typing somewhere since it carries a flower.
Also Azurill NOT being a water type doesn't make sense. It's FR/LG Pokedex entry - "It battles by flinging around its tail, which is bigger than its body. The tail is a floatation device in water." I don't understand that one.

A friend of mine once said that Mega Absol should gain the fairy typing. After hearing that, I totally agree. I can't un-see it now. It's so fluffy with those wings! He should totally be part fairy!
 
Sometimes I get the feeling that Lumineon would be best as Water/Bug or Water/Fairy, with those wings it definitely doesn't look like a basic Water-type to me. It'd make it more usable, at least...
 
Reminds me that I keep getting confused when I don't see stuff like electric moves be super-effective against Inkay.

"But it's a water type, surely-- oh wait..."
I'm still in the mindset of "if it's shaped like a fish or something similar then surely it must be a water type", and then this line and others exist and throw me for a loop ah ha. Doesn't matter that other fishy pokemon with no water type existed before them. I still assume and then get confused.
 
Granbull-Can someone explain what makes this a Fairy?
Mawile-I get it lives in caves, but...
Gyarados-Why is it a Flying-type if it can't learn any Fying-type moves?
Charizard-Who wouldn't want a Dragon-type starter?
 
Sceptile should REALLY have been a dragon grass from the start. It is even bases on a dragon (or dinosaur? I forgot aaa) so yeah. Thank god his mega evo fixed that

I still wonder why Gyarados is flying tbh.
 
There are actually a few Pokemon I've looked at and thought should be a specific type.

Gyarados - Water/Dragon
Luxio & Luxray - Electric/Dark
Noctowl - Flying/Psychic
Flabebe, Floette & Florges - Fairy/Grass
Golduck - Water/Psychic
Porygon, Porygon2 & Porygon-Z - Normal/Psychic
 
Dratini line should have been Dragon/Fairy or Dragon/Water.
Luxray should have been Electric/Dark.
Goodra should have been Dragon/Water.
Sceptile should have been Grass/Dragon.
Mismagius should have been Ghost/Fairy or Ghost/Dark.
Duskull line, Shuppet line, Yamask line and Darkrai should have been Ghost/Dark.
Eon duo should have been Dragon/Fairy.
Happinny line should have been Normal/Fairy.
Cubchoo line should have been Ice/Water.
Lapras should have been Water/Fairy.
Gyarados should have been Water/Dragon.
Electivire should have been Electric/Fighting.
Smoochum line should have been Ice/Fairy.
Rapidash, Ninetales, Ho-oh and Victini should have been Fire/Fairy.
Haxorus should have been Dragon/Steel.
Lugia and Psyduck line should have been Water/Psychic.
Bellosom, Celebi, Meganium and Flabebe line should have been Grass/Fairy.
Creselia, Mew and Lake Trio should have been Psychic/Fairy.
Seviper and Arbok should have been Poison/Dark.

And Sceptile being dragon is an awful idea. It's a Dilophosaurus, and it doesn't even look like a dragon.

Just this week, I wrote a mini-rant about how I wanted Yanmega to be a bug/dragon type and Masquerain bug/water. ^^ But since there's an own thread for it, here are some others I'd like to mention.

Like some others already mentioned, Lugia. Lugia's typing always confuses me. Even now, I wouldn't know exactly what type it is without looking it up. Water? Dragon? Flying? Could be any possible combination of those types, in my opinion. I'm always confused that it's not water, although that's the first thing that comes to my mind. And I can't really see the psychic type.
I also agree with the dark type on Luxray.

Accelgor should be bug/dark. I mean, Escavalier is a knight and it gains that secondary steel type. So, why doesn't Accelgor get a dark type to both match the ninja theme and mirror its counterpart? (Although for some reason I started wondering whether it's really supposed to be a ninja or rather some sort of Hannibal Lecter reference. It has a mask and looks like it's stuck in a straight jacket... but even then, the dark type would still fit.)

Gothitelle should have been psychic/dark and Absol's mega evolution does indeed look like a fairy type. I'm always confused that it's not.

^I couldn't agree more that Yanmega should be Bug/Dragon. I feel like Game Freak really missed out on a great opportunity by not making it that. Seems like it could be a great idea for a potential Mega though!

Oh, yes. I always liked Yanma for some reason, but when Yanmega came around with that same boring bug/flying type, instead of getting an awesome unique type, that was pretty disappointing. But if it got a Mega form to finally be a real dragonfly, as it should, that would probably redeem it.
