5th Gen Official English Name Discussion

That's very cold. In the Netherlands it's like, -5. But yeah, I like Viprass, too. Can't decide which I want, Smugleaf or Viprass...
 
Wow, everyone's getting all excited for the English names. x3
I'm almost POSITIVE that none of the fan-made names will be used. They'll probably come up with something we never thought of. :P

I live in cold Alberta, Canada.

It's days like these that make me wanna move out to somewhere in the U.S where snow is a myth and the temperature never goes into the one digits XD

I'm 100% positive that no fan-made name swill be used.

The only fan-term that has ever been officialized by my knowing is "eeveelutions".

But no actual names for Pokemon or characters.

Too sad... I need to make homework now... My laptop is downstairs, and my room upstairs... :'( So I need to wait another 2 hours 'til I can check again... But wait! I have Wi-Fi :P So I can use DSI browser :P! And yea, I don't think they'll use fannames. But Viprass just sounds good....
 
It's irritating me what the banner for the Generation Five Starters says:

New Pokemon Revealed on November 22nd!

It's in past tense, so it feels like the site says it's already revealed it.

Or am I getting paranoid?

Guuys, although that conversation has kind of ended, try to keep the extra parts to visitor messages and only discuss the starter name speculation/reveal. Otherwise people are likely to get off topic as a whole, when really, as I said, it belongs mostly to vms rather than in B/W threads.

Pity. Kasploogenbergen McShabadoo would be an awesome name, but because I thought of it...
 
Any of them.

Can you imagine Ash calling it out? "Kasploogenbergen McShabadoo, I CHOOSE YOU!"
 
Okay now it's time to be realistic, sure, that name would be amusing, but realistic names are what we're aiming for (and sadly yes, Smugleaf is more realistic than that).
 
10 character name limit? XD

That would be awesome, but I would get kinda boggled if there was a huge name for all the PKMN.
 
Alright... it won't be long now before the English starter names get announced, The Pokémon Company International could announce them at any minute now. We've just gotta keep checking pokemon.com 'till they do.

My guesses for the English starter names are:

Smugleaf
Pyroink (from someone else's post)
and Shelby

If they really do become the English names for the starters... I sure would be surprised of this matter. There seems to be more fans that are hoping for Smugleaf to be the official name than ones that don't. So yeah, it will be interesting to know for sure what the English names will be. :P

After all... I've seen some rumors that a gaming magazine in Australia said that Nintendo has decided to use the fanmade name of "Smugleaf". I cannot be sure that it would be 100% true... but we'll find out pretty soon. Like I said... it'll happen at any minute now. :o

EDIT: Oh yeah! And I was wondering... what time does pokemon.com normally change their website at?

About the Viprass name, I think it sucks. ;D Smugleaf is better, but it's not very likely to be the real name. Pyroink is also a very ****** name in my opinion..
