Tepig is tepid + pig. It took a while before I heard that and I couldn't realize it myself since I didn't even know the word tepid ^^ It feels like a better name now that I know where it comes from, but still... Pignition ftw. Pignite is the first evo, isn't it? Emboar is cool as well.

The starter names are never creative.

Turtwig. Turtle twig.
Bulbasaur. Bulb dinosaur
Chikorita. Probably the most creative name. Chikory + ita (Spanish feminine prefix)
Treecko. Tree gecko
Snivy. Snake ivy.
Yeah they aren't but I think Oshawott is pretty creative as I don't know where the Osha part came from...has anyone found out where that part comes from or means? Wait unless it's supposed to be a misspelling of the beginning of Ocean which is the Ocea parts...which sounds like Osha...makes sense if that's where they got it from...

Oshawott is the most creative starter name.

Oshawott is a play on words. Ocean + water + otter

Water and Otter become Wott and "Oc" in Ocean become Osha

Oshawott.

Makes sense and yeah it is the most creative starter name in my own opinion too can't believe it took me that long to figure it out...

Tepig actually grew on me. :3

I seriously love the new Pokemon names. Except for those hard to pronounce like Cofagrigus or Beeheyem (how do you pronounce that? Is that B-H-E-M (like an acronym?) or beHEEyem?)

Cofagrigus is easy to pronounce, really :(
If anything's hard, it's siligylth... which I can't even spell. D:

Why on earth would they change Gear's English name to Klink? O.o And why did they change Mijumaru's name to Oshwatt? Mijumaru's such a cute name!! (Although Oshwatt's name is pretty creative :D Ocean+Water+Otter XD) And why did they change Tabunne to Audino??? It doesn't sound right :<

Most of them are pretty nice. Every time I see the name 'Audino' I really want to say Iduno. >.O

But the one I don't like is the Mandibuzz or something ? I dont understand the orrigin of the namme . :S

I find them both pretty easy to pronounce...

Cough-a-gree-gus (That's how I like the pronounce it anyway)

Sig-a-lyph

It is Cof-ag-ri-gus

That is how I say it :3

And yeah I say Sig-a-lyph

I still get tongue tied saying Mamenbuo's new name though >.>

Still, why does the cute names go away?
I really, despise the word Tepig. For once.
Plus Audino doesn't sound right.
I really expected the B&W should stick with Japanese names but no.

More names confirmed!

Chili = Pod, Cress = other one and Cilan being Dento as we know.

Sanyou = Striaton City anddd Lillipup is confirmed as Yorterrie. Names seeming more real, etc. :D

Cheer Up = Work Up and the badge from those three = Trio badge.

Didn't even think to check Serebii today, Didn't expect any new names today!

Cilan, Chili & Cress are better than their original names IMO, aswell as Lillipup :)

Also, check out the Official website, they've updated it with the Xtransciever, Four seasons, C-gear, and some new English names like Victini, keeps its names! also, the Global Link

Wonder if there will be more, I mean theres only 31 days now so they're going to have to start revealing more names quicker if they still have over 100 to reveal. I can't believe it's 1st Feb today!

Well, they didn't reveal all before Japanese release, so I doubt they will for English. Plus, it's more exciting discovering the names in the game! Except we already know. I think we'll be getting more names on Thursday, since that's what IGN has been doing for the last two weeks, though it isn't many. Right now I'm pretty sure the whole list is true, but still a chance that it isn'ttttt.

Yeah, that's true, I haven't looked at the list, mainly because I don't want to be spoiled and theres a possiblity that some of them are incorrect.

I'm fairly happy with Chili and Cress. (I was never that big on the japanese names though so they weren't hard to beat :p)

Striaton City.....hmm it does seem a little odd when I say it out loud.
If I pronounce it like: Stry(rhymes with "dry")-a-ton City, is that right?

Wonder what it's based off.....I wonder if the "tri" is supposed to reference the three gym leaders?

Haxorus is probably my favourite name. King of Hax will be a suitable name for once! xD
