4th Gen [Old] HG/SS Help Thread

You can re-battle him... hmm. Was the League upgraded when you battled them again? If not, then it may be a requirement... have you beaten Lance and Clair by battling them with your Rival in Dragon's Den?

Is it possible to trade between HG/SS and D/P/Pt anytime or will I need the national Pokedex in HG/SS first?

yes yes the league was upgraded (lace's dragonite lv75 if i remember good), I beat clair and lance in dragon's den and my rival in the pokemon centre in the league...

maybe before battle him must i do any trade with platinum?? (or have a pokemon of 4th gen in my team??)

Yes, you can trade any Pokemon betwen HG/SS and D/P/Pt once you get the normal Pokedex from Oak early on in the game (before reaching the 1st town with a gym).
I think I read that it was at any point, but don't hold my word for it, since I've never actually tried :|

In HG/SS, some stats have yellow names; does that indicate that this stat receives a 10% boost? It appears so, but just wondering.
The yellow-tinted stat actually has no effect as four will look yellow - instead look at the stats highlighted faintly in red and blue. Red means +10% boost and blue means 10% decrease for those stats due to nature. Yellow are the 'neutral' stats.
On the Pokemon's stat screen or whatever its called where is the nature shown?
There's the top and bottom screns and three windows to navigate... on the left-most window (the general one that will always display first when you examine a Pokmeon's stats) it's the first line of writing on the top screen (above the date given of when it was caught).

That is rather odd then... only thing I can think of is maybe just beating the league again first, and if not maybe there's some obvious sidequst (say, catching Suicune) you need to do first? (Also note you don't have to re-battle the Elite Four to get to battle him the first time around but afterwards you need to beat Lance + the Elite Four every time you want to battle Red again - until you do that he won't appear again. That should be the minimum requirement, same as in GSC).

I was talking about Omar from Sinnoh on route 47 (he said something and i asked if is it possible to battle him or of he said something important)

I played pokemon gold (normal) and i know how to re-battle red ^^

You can get Poliwag at 5% chance in Ecruteak with an Old Rod; as far as I know, all other areas are either Super or Good Rod in order to catch it, and it's pretty much anywhere. Try Serebii for better details, or:

and on my stat screen for my Pokemon, there is no blue or red to show boost; a Bold Nature Tauros has its Defence in yellow, and my Hasty Eevee has Speed in yellow, so is yellow not the boost?

Oh that explains it, thought you meant Red. But then...I think you mean Crasher Wake by Omar? He just stands there and says someone unimportant - no battles with him or anything. (You can find him in the Dept. Store though - there he'll give you a Piplup/Chimchar/Turtwig face mask).

Sorry for asking another question but I'm up to Mahogany Town and I have completly no idea what to do next.

thanks.i need to get my gligar to evolve

I ask fully expecting someone to whack me over the head with an answer I must be blind to miss, but...
I beat Mahogany Gym, and I walked out and Professah-man Utsugi (I forget his English name...) called me and told me something about the Radio Tower (I wasn't reading too much into it, as I was thinking, "RADIO TOWER?! FINALLY." </idiot>) So I flew out to Goldenrod, and went to see the radio tower, and it was exactly the same as it was before.
So, I tried a few things, looked it up on the internet, and ohhhhh, I was supposed to listen to the radio before rushing in to save the day. Silly me. Other than that it appears I'm on the right track.
And then I try to listen to the radio, and it's just the same stuff that's always broadcasting. Maybe I have to wait a bit? Waited two minutes. Same regularly scheduled programming.

tl;dr, Just beat Mahogany Gym, got a call from Utsugi, but I've got nothing on the radio. D:

I've looked it up in three or four HG/SS walkthroughs, even some GSC sources, but everything points to "Team Rocket's on the radio! You're just a dunce!" >> Anyone know what broken bridge I have to fix?
