I only use it around certain people who I know wouldn't find it annoying, or if I'm being sarcastic. I don't have a problem with it as long as it's not overused (which I used to be guilty of, eh heh). Now I stick with "XD" if I find something amusing, since most of the time I'll only be smiling rather than actually laughing out loud.​
 
Not so much. If I do, I'm more likely to go "LOLOLOLOLOL" than just plain "lol".

I prefer "lul" and "lulz", for some reason. :B
 
I often say 'lol' or 'lawl', but not ever so frequently. When I come across something almost all too amusing then I would go "XD". If the situation is both amusing and awkward, I would ellipsis then exdee, which isn't as often.
 
Haha, I use it alot, in real life too xD I like the word lol... i'm a gaming nerd anyway, so speaking in internet slang is pretty normal for me xD I say WTH as in W-T-H not What-The-Heck, I just say the letters not the word. But I don't think it is annoying, but then again, it is me xD
 
I use it often, but not to the point where it's immensly annoying. I also use it as an ice breaker like when I say something that could be offensive but I don't mean it to be offensive.
 
LOL I love it! It's short and it's not annoying in any way..
but I don't use it that much. I abuse "hehe" all the time instead xD
 
I don't use lol that much… if something mae me giggle for a few minutes I use it although it my turn into a Lmfao… I 'over use' xD … That's because if I don't most people would think I'm serious …
 
I use 'lol' whenever something makes me snort or chuckle. Sometimes I'll use 'omg lol' 'lawl' when I'm kind of/sort of laughing. However, if I actually am laughing I'll usually just use 'haha' or maybe 'haha omg'.
I haven't used 'XD' in a few years, I think (disregarding just now...), I usually only use it if I'm REALLY amused. I just feel entirely weird using it. It's totally out of character for me.

xD is a smile, LOL is a chuckle, and LOLOLOL is a laugh. If I laugh really hard, then it'll have to be ROFL because it's faster and easier to type than LOLOLOL because I'm laughing and I can't type coherantly when I'm typing. xD

lawd and lawl escapes me every now and then, but it's rare. :<

I laugh at a lot of things that aren't even that funny though, so LOL is actually me laughing about 90% of the time.

Only place I don't regularly lol is on forums, because I try to type properly here. Everywhere else, I lol in full force. I even say it irl and in Skype pretty often.
