Thought Ninja Slayer was going to be the new Kill la Kill but it appears it's actually the new Inferno Cop. Sometimes life is good.

Smartphone games aren't completely terrible. They can definitely be done right.
I'm not implying that it being on a smartphone makes it inherently bad.

It's more that, as a sequel, it splits and alienates your fanbase, and worse, it forces the player to use virtual controls (and dear God, I can't express how much I hate virtual controls. There isn't much in the world that I hate, but I hate those). From a marketing standpoint, the average gamer either won't bat an eye or won't think much of it as a full retail game. Honestly, despite not knowing what it is, I can't help but feel that it will be a scaled down Fantasy Life, even knowing it'll probably be an expanded one. You also limit how much you can do with the game from a gameplay standpoint in some ways.

Shame to say that I won't be playing Fantasy Life 2 unless it gets ported to the 3DS, because I just can't get into Smartphone gaming experiences.

Touch controls are definitely kinda finicky. And the splitting the fanbase is kinda bad.

But maybe they'll have it so you can use Bluetooth controllers with the game. Sony's proven the means exist with their flagship phones. I'm just waiting for the day more devs start to think "Sony's doing this, why can't we make our games play like this?"

Gaming's my hobby and my passion.

Which actually reminds me, I've been watching Shirobako lately and it's been quite a bit of fun. The scrutiny when it comes to zooming in on the semantics of animation makes it intriguing, if not educational, and it's nothing else if not motivating. It's been pushing me to create something myself- in fact, it seems like it was made for me. I always write down ideas for games but, as is said in the show, an idea by itself is worth nothing, you need to act on it for it to be of any value.

Oh, what a fun year this'll be.

@Don - They could, though I do fear that such a thing would take away from the portability of the game. But I guess it's a game of give and take. The reason for the move was because the director wanted to reach adult crowds, who just happen to use their phones more than their 3DS devices. I understand the reasoning, to an extent, but considering how 3DS' move off the shelves and how gaming commerce works on the smartphone (and similarly, how older players browse games on app stores and the like), it really seems unnecessary.

All I know about this conversation is that it's about anime. :c I think.
