live swinging the banhammer like he was PokeCommBot 8)
Chase you should permaban the bot imo.
I think the IRC channel has a bot under a similar name, but the Battle Server has a bot of its own, too! I could be wrong, but I don't think the parameters for the IRC bot are specifically configured so it can ban for x amount of lines; which is the issue with the battle server's bot constantly muting moderators when it wasn't supposed to.
that bot knows it's place now.
because Chase is a weenie

> staff not having access to staffchatDrivers are essentially the same thing as moderators, just without the power to ban (and modchat). They were deemed unnecessary due to the reasoning that you may as well trust someone with full mods if you're going to give them any sort of power. The same also applies to &, though to much larger extent; as you're granting them administrative capabilities and jurisdictions; so administrator promotions (if I'm correct on this), as a result, are super rare.
you said drivers don't have access to modchat, and that seems a bit counterintuitive. :/May I ask where you got this from o.o?
Yeah. See what I wrote about modes below, I understand. The general idea behind drivers in the first place is that they're "mods-in-training". The thing is, PC Battle Server is rather small, so it's counterproductive to assess a particular driver's capabilities if they're really not given much to work with to begin with.
At least with Anope IRC services, who can autopromote to what is entirely customizable. Personally I set it to where all ranks can temporarily (as in for their current session) promote up to one rank below their own, and & can set to autopromote up to @ while ~ can set to autopromote that and & and ~.Drivers on PS =/= halfops on IRC. The biggest difference between halfops and Ops on IRC is generally due to permissions as you might've already known. halfops can set a specific amount of chan modes, ops can set more, and I believe they also have permissions to promote people up to halfops in additional to having a small degree of control of the server bot and I think some other chanserv commands but I can be wrong on that. Mods on PS (generally speaking) do not have these extensive permissions, and any administrative commands just defaults to either leaders (&) or admins (~)
So is + on the BS completely pointless or what
