6th Gen OR/AS Chit Chat + CoroCoro Discussion

Watch, GF will troll everyone and just show a cutscene of Rayquaza at E3 8D

I'm with those who want to see them discuss whether there are any new Mega Evos. or not and show the new Megas if there are. I'd also like to see what the specially designed Groudon and Kyogre are--if they're Mega Evos. or new formes or what. After all, Get TV did point out how they looked different, so I can see that being covered at E3 or in CoroCoro.

I'm all fair for criticism of the remake, I seen valid ones like how the remakes will have similar roster like FRLG and HGSS which is fair because it'll be nice to see Hoenn with Sinnoh/Unova/Kalos pokemon. My post is more about poster just posting for the sake of saying "this remake is useless" or "this remake is unnecessary" without valid criticism just to hate for the sake of hating.

You said it, man!

For your bolded point, not everyone probably condone piracy, you can't just tell someone who only played a few pokemon games and say "Hey you, just used emulator to play Pokemon games". And yes, for me graphics was the reason I bought FRLG/HGSS, they might be a flawed remaked but for nostalgia reason it felt nice to visit Kanto/Johto again.

It really did feel nice to visit Kanto and Johto again with the better eyes that the newer graphics engines provided!

I think it's part of tradition of GF to remake games once they hit a decade or so. At first, most people thought remake was just to transfer or catch pokemons for the pokedex, but I never saw it that way. I saw it more as Gamefreak playing to their fans nostalgia + cash grab. HGSS gave us some neat feature(even though the main problem was never fixed) like the whole Pokemon following you, safari zone finally making an appearance in Johto and etc.

I think this as well, and, in my opinion, it was very nice of GameFreak to start its tradition of remaking its old games once they've aged somewhat in order to allow their fans to bask in the nostalgia of revisiting old times and locations. What was this 'main problem' that you say that the company never fixed when it remade Gold and Silver into HeartGold and SoulSilver, though? Was it the difficulty curve like somebody mentioned some few posts back?

Hoenn will probably more of the same with brand new features. The biggest thing I want for Hoenn remake is to bring back "hard mode" of BW2 (extra pokemons for everyone). Also unless they change it, this is the first time since gen 4 that E4 will not be challenge in any order.

The option to change the RSEmakes' difficulty setting would be great to have, but I was always confused as to why GameFreak got rid of strict ordering in the Elite Four since I always used it as a better progress indicator for how far I had gotten in defeating them each time around. Before Generation V, you could just say, "I got to 'so and so' before saving or blacking/whiting out," but now you have to say, "I defeated 'so and so,' 'so and so,' and 'so and so,' etc., before saving blacking/whiting out.' Not having to defeat the Elite Four's members in a strict order gets rid of the feeling of solidarity that such a strict ordering cements between them and turns them into just the fifth- through second-best trainers of a region instead of a cabal of the best trainers around.

I just really hope we get to see something at E3! Anything more than what was on Get TV would be great honestly. :) I think that if we get to see some gameplay, it'll answer a couple of questions we have about the protagonists and whether or not we'll be able to customize them.

Haha, definitely. So much speculation has been circling around since the announcement of ORAS, anything other than what they revealed on Get TV would be nice! Hopefully, they show some shots of how the environment is going to look. That's one of the main things I'm excited about! :]

It really feels like we are so far away from the next news batch, even though it's only about 3 weeks because we've had next to nothing in terms of footage. Usually CoroCoro provides us with more information, but since the next issue isn't until Mid June same for E3, we've still got somewhat of a wait until we get our first blip of information. :(

You know what they say though, guys.

Great things come to those who wait. I'm sure we haven't received legitimate footage yet because they want to build up the hype train just a little more. I'm positive that our first show of footage will be fantastic. I hope they show off the cities a bit, personally. Oh and if contests are back (undoubtedly if you ask me), I really hope they give us a glimpse.

Who knows! Perhaps it'll be something quite spectacular if we're having to wait so long for news, as well as footage. Don't worry, 3 weeks will fly by before you know it.

Play some RSE to pass the time!

If they do release information about ORAS at E3, I'm hoping that they either quell theories of new Mega evolutions being introduced in the remakes, or reveal the list of Pokemon they'll be creating Mega evolutions for. I think that's the most pressing question about ORAS, at least in my head right now.

I think latter would be more preferable. =) Revealing mega-evolutions would sort of ruin that "wow" effect for us when we actually encounter them, but then again, those who wouldn't like to wind up spoiled should be avoiding these things.

Considering X&Y's mega forms were kept relatively secret aside from speculation and some revealed ones, I doubt they'll go too crazy on that information.

It's already dead obvious Sceptile and Swampert are getting mega evos. I doubt they'll reveal too many others. (If there are others.) Cause I remember still being very surprised during my X playthrough on who all could mega evolve. There was a ton that they didn't reveal.

I agree that they'll keep some hidden. I want to find some out for myself.

I also hope that these games don't leak out early like XY did...seriously that early release for some made me so mad >_<. It ruins the idea of a world release.

Oh god don't get me started on that. Talk about a quick way to squash your excitement.
Thankfully I was able to avoid most of the spoilers that followed promptly afterward, thus able to still play the game blind and get satisfaction from that.

I really hope the games aren't 'accidentally' leaked again, because I really don't want to have to avoid tumblr and PC until the games are released.

It's annoying. :I

Sadly I wasn't as lucky. I spoiled most of the Megas (but not their appearances) and the types of the E4 (but not their teams or their appearances). I hated staying out of PC for those leading up days...I had hoped to be able to speculate some more on XY...
I did managed to avoid spoiling the fact that Flabebe had two more stages...was shocked actually that it was a three stage Pokemon...

If they do 'accidentally' leak again then I hope that GF and Nintendo will stop doing business with the shops that leaked them...

I was pretty frustrated when X and Y leaked. My brother already looked at all the new information, but I threatened him and he didn't tell me anything. I did the same with my friends, and tried to keep my first run as blind as possible. For the most part, I succeeded. I couldn't contain my curiosity and had to look up if Skrelp evolved, though. n__n; In any case, if they do leak ORAS early, I don't think I'll be as careful, simply because they're remakes of a game I've already played, and there won't be many new things that will give me the shock that X and Y did.

E3 game list?

Spoiler:

Well, ORAS will definitely get some attention at E3. That's for sure.

What's the source of that list? If it's reliable could you repost it in the E3 thread too please ^_^?

It also seems like that Pokemon game for the Wii U is on there...considering the copyrighting it's not that shocking.

Fire Emblem x Megami Tensei too!

Got it here:

The list could be fake though. It is quite certain that we will get new info on some Wii U/3DS/ORAS stuff but the true source of that list? I have no idea. :(

It's interesting to see there is a release date for SSB 3DS. (Or am I too Slowpoke?)

I don't want to crush any hopes, but this list looks somewhat fake. Everyone can make a list like tjis and print it out. Some lines of text just don't seem right. I.e. the september 12 2014 release date text looks like it is crooked.

Let's just hope this one is real, the other 'leak' didn't have ORAS on the list.

There was another E3 List circulating the internet that didn't include ORAS which sort of came to my surprise, but I guess that just validates that both of these could be fake. I really do hope that one you've just posted is real though, Mario Party U is one I've been waiting for! Same for ORAS to appear at E3 would be great.

Also just noticed for the Wii U virtual Gamecube line up Mario Kart Double Dash, seriously if this list is real then E3 is going to be a cracker of an event for 2014. As easy as it is to create something like this on Word, I do hope this is the real stuff.
