I personally think it's the Mossdeep Gym. Look at the circular tiles, they are somewhat FLOATING. And the trainers there are all those purple "psychics" too.

And my guess is those yellow buildings are boutiques.

With SS/HG they didn't do a crystal one, which on one part I hate, because I feel they could have expanded on it even further, but at the same point, they didn't bleed people out of money, just for another version of an almost identical game. I think I'd rather the original two just come out on there own, and have it so Rayquazza is obtainable somehow. (Somewhat like Zygarde maybe?) I hope they either do that, or follow onto the three games further, by adding a previous region to them. Kalos/Kanto maybe? (Sorry for all this babbling)

i seriously seriously seriously do NOT want a third version of the remakes!
i'd rather only have OR and AS, and be done with it.
main reason why is because i don't want to buy one, and then a better "Delta Emerald" comes out. -,-

The Battle Frontier island is located where the cloud is to the right of the island near Pacifidlog. We can't say it's not there for certain, in fact, reminds me of the maps in Mystery Dungeon, and how they were covered in clouds but as you progressed they moved offscreen. Maybe they want to surprise us (or I'm just hoping </3)

It's fake - I saw it on DeviantArt. Someone made it to go along with the other two. :3 Look at the Delta Emerald text - it's layered on top of the original "Theta Emerald" text the artist put on there.

I think it's going to be similar to the Ice in B2W2's early Unova map, we'll be able to access those areas behind the clouds post game.

This was my line of thinking, though it's curious how it still shows Southern Island. Then again, it's more suspenseful for them to cover up the area where the Battle Tower/Frontier is because of what could go there than to hide an island that's home to the other Lati. Also makes me wonder if Southern Island will be event-only like it previously was or if we'll be able to access it at some point.

Rumors have it that the Latis will get expanded storylines, if that's true it'll help if Southern Island wasn't event only. They could still have the other Eon appear there at a different time by bringing say the Enigma Stone back and having that turn into the Soul Dew and so on.

Isn't it kinda nice to not be able to assume what's coming though? Lately Game Freak has done a good job of keeping us on our toes so we have no idea what to expect. :)

I had thought that too, but Steven's hair is light blue (a little greyish too). The person in the screenshot has obviously white "hair". Also the person's "hair" isn't the same style as Stevens. If it's not Brendan who might it be :/ ?
Edit: I just realized that he's missing Brendan's bag...so either it's due to it being Beta, or there's an option to not have a visible bag (?), he has a may like bag (?), or it's someone we don't know...redesigned Norman? xD.
 
I think you might be reading a bit too much into it - the lighting is strange and you can even see his white collar peeping over the black outfit. I don't think a slight blue tinge missing in a tiny screenshot means anything.
 
I was rewatching the trailer and noticed that the gym with the trap doors has water and steam can be seen that was reminiscent of hotsprings. So it's most likely Flannery's gym, instead of Roxanne's like a lot of us originally though.

The thing is though, that Steven's model is chibi too like the main character's, this one looks skinnier...could be because of the distance from the camera.

Anyways I think that cave is Origin cave. It'll make sense as it's name is Origin cave so it'll likely say the origins of the Pokemon world xD.

It's probably just a small cut-scene then. The protagonist in X/Y were in their actual height during the scene where Xerneas/Yveltal was awakened, right? ^^
 
Height customization certainly would be interesting XD Imagine if you could make your character as tall as AZ, pft.

That place being Origin Cave definitely makes sense, especially since it appears that only one image of the legendaries shows up in the cave.

I'm hoping it'll get additional sections later, at least one with Ancient Rayquaza. Maybe they could discover an image of the trio in the same positions they were in the Emerald poster/artwork of the trio but in their Primal forms. It'll give a nod to Rayquaza's role as the mediator and connect with it's role in Emerald.
