6th Gen Pokémon Direct - 04/09/2013!

Omg omg omg I get to use Venusaur again! I haven't used a kanto starter since my first game! I'm so excited!!!!!!!! The hype has been quadrupled!!!!!!!!

Backwards compatibility confirmed, through a cloud storage paid service. I don't know about you, but as far as pokemon goes, that's pretty big news.
 
I wonder since Kanto's are in the game if they'll simply have the other Gen III, Gen II, Gen IV, Gen V starters for download like they're doing with Torchic, it'll be the best way to get all the Mega evolutions of the other starters which I'm considering will also have Megas.
 
No new pokemon, but with gen 1 starters getting Megas the rumor is probably true that all starter get megas. Pretty Cool.

If they included the Hoenn starters, it would pretty much dispel any hope for a gen 3 remake. Wether game freak will or will not make it, creating talk and hype for any aspect is a good thing and they will do nothing to dispel that.

Oops, my mistake. That trailer looks pretty neat, I think a lot of people will be impressed by the Kanto Starter mega evolutions tbh.
 
I'll probably just use the two new apps to transfer my Black 2 Pokémon into X/Y and than cancel my subscription. I don't see a whole lot of use for it unless the in-game PC storage rips me off.

The new Megas look nice. I'm wondering if any will be retyped?

It's interesting news, I'll give you that. It allows us to store Pokémon between our DS games, which is cool. Buuuut, it's hard to get excited about a paid service.

Other than that, we received notice that we get to choose a Kanto starter (which is awesome), and three new mega evolutions for their evolved forms. All good news, so I guess they wanted to hit us with a positive bang before the release, rather than a massive amount of spoilers. Good move though, I will admit.
 
It's going to be really difficult for me to use only Gen VI Pokemon when they keep throwing these tempting awesome previous generation Pokemon at me! They've made Charizard even more badass!
I don't think I'll ever fill up that bank though haha...
 
Well, that went by rather quickly. So just to recap, we now have Pokémon Bank, Pokémon Transporter, Kalos and Kanto starters, and Mega Evolutions for the Kanto starters. Not so bad.

Not sure how I feel about having to pay an annual cost just to use Pokémon Bank and Transporter, but I will admit I do like the idea and purpose that they represent.

The addition of getting not only one of the Kalos starters from your new friends, but also a Kanto starter from the new professor was probably the highlight of this Ninntendo Direct. That's such an awesome twist!

The mega evolutions don't come as a surprise, but Charizard certainly has the best of the three in my opinion.

You have restricted storage space on your games this time based on what was said during Direct so you may need the Online storage.

Correct.

I get the feeling that we'll only really have like 3 boxes worth of storage, as an incentive to move everything online for more space.
 
I personally love all of the news. I'm not overly fond of the idea of the Pokemon Bank but at the same time, it does give a lot of space to transfer Pokémon from old games and it's better than nothing! And getting Kanto a starter from the professor? That's something that I didn't expect what so ever. Love it.
