Author's Notes
Pokémon Dreary is a project that was developed at a relatively speedy rate.
Dreary was started on August 24, 2018, and was completed on January 28th, 2019.
My goal is to tell a short story that I whipped up in my head during one of my regularly scheduled dozing-off sessions.
By no means is this a hack that is meant to bedazzle you with its technical prowess!
By all means, this is a hack that is meant to make you think, challenge you, and be an all around memorable experience.
Let me know what you think!
Stumble upon a glitch? Have a suggestion? I appreciate any and all feedback!
I hope you enjoy playing Pokémon Dreary as much as I enjoyed making it.

Spoiler:
v1.4
Seventh public release
Date of release: March 26, 2019
Fixed:
+ Truckload of text and dialog errors.
+ Fossil restoration system now applies the correct conversions.
+ Useless item pickups have either been given meaning or changed to something useful.
+ Refactored some dialog in Unknown Tower.
+ Balanced difficulty, especially in Unknown Tower. Grinding necessity has been severely decreased.
+ Severely altered trainer teams for added variety.
+ All trade evolution mons now evolve at level 34.
Removed:
- Lessened confusion getting through Unknown Lab.
- Purged overworld sprites and scripts that existed in the original FireRed ROM, lessening erroneous conflation between Dreary and FireRed.
Added:
+ Nearly all 151 mons are now available to catch and raise, as opposed to the previous ~50 or so.
v1.3
Sixth public release
Date of release: February 7, 2019
Fixed:

v1.2
Fifth public release
Date of release: February 2, 2019
Fixed:
+ Glitch where Giovanni would appear in front of Victory Road, even after the event with May. You should now be able to enter Victory Road.

Frequently Asked Questions
Spoiler:
Where do I go after defeating Sabrina?
There was a meeting in progress on the top floor of the Silph Co. Perhaps it's almost over?
Why is this game so HARD?
Dreary is meant to pose a serious challenge.
Note that you're able to heal by sleeping in any bed, and there are a few "stray" Nurse Joys available who will heal your party.
Also note that there are a few "grinding" trainers you can fight unlimited times, if you feel the need.
I'm stuck on Cinnabar Island! Where do I go?
Try exploring the Pokémon Mansion. You'll know when you've found the right character to progress forward.
I talked to everyone in the laboratory but nothing happened. What do I do?
The second-in-command scientist guy said he was waiting on a phone call from Xergle. It sure is taking while...
There are a couple servers located at the top-center of the floor. They'll inform you of electrical system disconnections. Maybe check in with those?
The policeman is blocking the Viridian City gym entrance. How do I get him to move?
Talk to your Rival on Route 1.
What happens if I select "Yes" or "No" during the ending scene?
You will be killed by Dreary regardless of your choice.
That ending was horrible! Did I miss something?
No, you didn't miss anything. The ending was meant to be only temporary, as a sequel was planned to continue the story. However, that sequel was cancelled. See the following two videos for closure:
