Of course not. It's an incredibly appealing and expressive design, and it's the first time we ever got a more villainous starter going by its status as the "Heel Pokemon."

There's a lot to like about it.
 
Seems I was hasty with Rowlet's final evolution. Obviously the previous artwork did it no justice. The new artwork of it looks much better and much less humanoid than it first appeared. I stand by my hatred of the other two though. One is far too feminine and dainty and just bleurgh, and the other is the other extreme; a muscle-bound, bipedal abomination whose only saving grace is the Dark typing instead of Fighting. To hell with both of them. Decidueye all the way. Not crazy about the name though. Might have to nickname it. Still better than the weird Robin Hood play on words people kept coming up with for it though.
 
Anyone who says this is not the best set of starters can delete their accounts.

I love the designs. Tapu Fini is my favourite among the Guardians. I also like how Tapu Lele resembles Diancie in both colour scheme and silhouette. Cosmog is just so otherworldly and freaky that I love it. It'd been better if it was Psychic/Poison or something but I guess that its link to Lunala (and the general colour scheme) makes more Psychic/Ghost if it ever evolves.
 
I love all three of the starters especially Primarina and Decidueye, really love Primarina design and it's typing as well. Decidueye being grass/ghost was really surprising and as someone who's a ghost type fan I'm really happy with it's typing. Between all the starters I'm still going with Popplio, as for the Island Guardians I really like Tapu Fini the most.
 
Now that I've seen all the Tapu guardians, my fave definitely has to be Tapu Fini due to same reasons as Primarina - dual typing of my two fave types. I also love Tapu Lele for its Psychic Terrain's competitive potential.
 
Is anyone else kind of sad Incineroar didn't get the name Beltigre? Or is that just me?

I love love love love LOVE Decidueye so much. I didn't see Ghost happening, but I couldn't be any happier with it. Some Robin Hood legends do depict him as a ghost, so the typing makes sense to me. I do need to come up with a new name for my Popplio since I was planning on naming her Marina. :x

I didn't expect the Ghost typing at all and I'm not sure if it's particularly great when it comes to weaknesses, but nothing will stop me from loving Decidueye. I knew I was picking it when I first saw the leaks, and the video has just confirmed it. It looks very very awesome ^_^

other two are also pretty nice as well, I gotta say. Normally there's at least one starter from most generations that I dislike but this time that's not at all the case.
 
I don't really like Primarina's signature move. At least give it a high BP if it's a double-edged sword.
 
Welp... now I can't decide which starter to get. Good job Game Freak.

Concerning Primarina's signature move if you listen close it makes a super effective sound as it hits, and the only moves that make sounds like that are damaging moves. I'm going to assume it's like Smellingsalt or Wake-up Slap, dealing double damage but healing the opponent's status. It could be really tricky if Primarina also gets Scald... think about it. Inflicting burn, then doing double damage. Ouch.
 
I still wonder why a lot of stuff is themeing more around Moon than the Sun. Even in the anime. All the starters all seem more night time oriented to me. Darkness and Ghosts are more aspects of the moon. Even Poppilio's still seems more moon oriented.

With them revealing the final starters the first time in history, I wonder if that means they will still have different forms. I know Data Mine has shown a lot, but maybe all the forms weren't done yet or were not in the demo. Zygarde Core and there battle forms were also not in the demo yet.

It is just odd too me that there is so much more matching the theme of Moon than Sun.

And then we have the anime ending with a moon.

Maybe it is just because we haven't had much to do with the Moon in past generations, but I would think there would be a better balance to the theme of Sun and Moon.
 
I'm wondering about the Battle Tree... Some think of it as PWT 2.0 which is nice, but I'm afraid it will be just Battle Maison 2.0 where you battle a lot of trainers to get consecutive wins, then you can only met the champions (Cynthia and Wally) Because from the trailer the Battle Tree arena really look a lot like Battle Maison.

Unless we get to move up for every victory we gained in a battle, then we may only need 20 wins to get to the top of the Battle Tree (may differ from 8-30 battles based on the tree height), and Red Blue will be waiting at you at the top of the Battle Tree (seems reasonable this way, I rather not met them randomly at other places)
 
After looking at the Alola Pokedex leak, I see that Cosmog was indeed in the datamine. But I wonder why they didn't reveal the Pokemon that has some kind of relationship to Solgaleo alongside it.

It might be, as some say, a Three-line evolution. It would be unconventional to not release the other mini-mon if it was a pre-evo/partner to Solgaleo as Cosmog is Lunala's. It would be like revealing only Decidueye and not the rest of the final starter evos. I do think it is a three-line evolution where the final evolution is based heavily on WHERE you evolve it and at what time. (The pedestal thing where Sol and Luna were seen entering)
