Episode 3: Tomb of Heka

I'll be home in about an hour in which I can whitelist you into the server; I'll VM you when I do so!

skele spawner is accessible via the rail system, the stairs in my sheep area, or the stairs on the south side of Mt Wobbu! besides making it technically better (thank u penta) i have also completely redecorated the place with a lil help from mage :D its so pretty now~ and the farm is bigger and im growing mushrooms everywhere feel free to harvest if u replant. again everything left in chests down there is community stuff unless you put your name on one or something

edit: im glad you showed tomb of heka bc i never would go in there

Klippy spawned a bunch of those. I think they're like Halloween decorations.

I made some more progress on my house, got lost again, and wandered around for a bit. Was the treehouse city always there, or is it a new addition? Either way, it looks great!

You should wander to the desert looking for sand, push a button, get stuck in there, and panic until Klippy rescues you. Not that I have personal experience with that or anything...

Klippy has been out of commission the last few days but I'm sure once he comes back he'll take a look at it and update it when he gets some free time!

I know I am a new user here but is there any chance I could get in on this server? I heard mention of a whitelist so if there is something specific I must do before becoming whitelisted please let me know and I will try to accomplish it.

That's been there! It belongs to KDSLAMMIN who isn't actually a PC member but is really nice when you actually get talking -v- It's really cool but I still get lost every time I go up there lol

The prodigal mod has returned. :)

I'll update the map semi-soon. Wels wants it updated as well, so I'll get to work shortly. Lots of new crap on the server, so definitely worth updating.

And maybe soon. :)

Hi ninJAS! Our one rule for the whitelist is that we require new additions to have a good amount of posts on PC (ranges from 50-100~) because we want to see your behavior on the forums before the server. Unfortunately we've had some troublemakers on the server and try to avoid that problem with this minimal requirement! Please feel free to post about and once you reach 50~, we can get to added you. :) Thanks!

The new Gauntlet is open, everyone!

In addition to entirely new levels, I've also upgraded the prizes for beating each Tier!

Tier I - Enchanted armor
Tier II - Enchanted sword AND a tool of your choice
Tier III - Build your own Gauntlet level! (Yes, this is exactly as it says. You will be able to build an entire level of the Gauntlet! You can use any diabolical ideas and tricks in the book and, soon, people will be playing YOUR level!)
Tier IV - 75 blocks of your choice (excludes certain blocks)

We've already had two winners of the Gauntlet, White Mage and KDSLAMMIN! Gunner/Leijon attempted the Gauntlet, but lost due to some unfortunate lag issues.

Please come check out the new Gauntlet! We're located directly inside the Nether Hub (via the portal located at Spawn) and we're open for business!

I kinda hate how the new venue is in the nether since a) limited water and b) keep lagging in the portal itself which throws me back and forth in the overworld and nether =-=

I think that Tier 2 should have the tool set instead while Tier 1 has the sword added in

It's in the Nether for several reasons: The lack of water is on purpose and is meant to enhance the challenges. I found that people spent their time bathing too much during the Gauntlet I, so this makes the challenge more difficult and encourages strategy, rather than waiting in the water. Beyond that, it makes things interesting if you squander your entire cauldron too fast.

The Nether also gives me access to an entirely FLAT area without restriction. I would never have created this Gauntlet had it not been for this and the Nether really makes it convenient for me to continue making fun stuff like the Tomb of Heka (which is a bit buggy) without the confining nature of our world border. It also keeps me from hogging space for y'all to build. :)

Beyond that, I get very laggy moving from the overworld to the Nether as well. :/ I think it's a server thing, rather than anything else. But I understand your annoyance.

Isn't there anything to fix that? Kinda sucks tho, since thats the only thing that keeps me from liking the new Gauntlet location. Imo the place looks AWESOME.

Speaking of improvement, I have finished making the walls of Spruce Heights ^^ All that's left is to make the rest of the gates, make names for the roads, and spruce up Lake Leijuno.

As for Operation Pathfinder, I have made little to no progress. If anyone wants to make roads connecting to the middle of spawn, you can, just do 4 blocks wide, with the sides be stone slabs, and polished andesite in the middle. You can do off beaten paths like the one used in Anna's Ranch or the path that leads to Klippiyippi River, the old Gauntlet arena, Halloween Plaza, and the skull emporium, but if you are just gonna do normal roads, I suggest you use the one with the stone slabs and andesite so that we are all equal, sort of. If you need them, you can take some in the chest behind the Spruce Heights Main Gate, which is at the front of my home ^^ As for the names of the roads, you can name them whatever you please! Just put the sign and 2 blocks of your choice :3

The portal has always been laggy, proably always will be, whenever you teleport between the overworld and nether. It has to dump everything it loaded for the overworld and reload the nether - You get similar lag when first logging in as well, since it has to load everything.

The server is getting laggy again, took me a few minutes to load in. Generally it only takes a half minute.

Edit - nvm, steam just started updating something.

I can look, but I don't believe there's anything we can do. :( Possibly in a update, but not sure.

I think it might be a bit less troublesome if someone is in the same chunk as the portal is, but I don't know about that for sure. I do know that not everyone gets that portal lag and only a few/select few of us do.

This was a great episode! Completely different from what you've shown so far and I still love the White Mage is basically a recurring character in the series now. He's been in all but one episode, I think. :P

On the issue of lag, it might be because of the amount of RAM available from the tier I bought. I could technically upgrade the server, but it would cost more money on my end.

This may not be something we'd want to consider currently... but next time we decide to reset the server, maybe you should consider switching to a different provider. It seems like we use nowhere near our capacity (as far as number of people available to be online at once) goes, but we could certainly use a pretty substantial RAM upgrade.
