  • A) Pick up all the items. I imagine our inventory will soon be full, and I do question the value of shards, but might as well take what we can get!

    B) Take the South exit. Water-types are just more enticing than rocks. :p

    A) Help the Smoliv beat the Capsakid in a fight. We can't allow them to dominate the place!

  • Pokemon Dungeon Escape - Act 1 - Chapter 2

    The voting results are unanimous:

    1) What should we do with the items?
    A) Pick up all the items. - 4 votes
    B) Pick up only the berries.
    C) Pick up only the Red Shard.
    D) Don't pick any items up at all.

    2) Which exit do we take?
    A) Take the East exit.
    B) Take the South exit. - 4 votes
    C) Go back North and take the other exit in that room.

    3) We can go poke our noses in and help either the Smoliv or the Capsakid. What do we do?
    A) Help the Smoliv beat the Capsakid in a fight. (+ 20 Reputation with 'Arboliva's Living Needs' & receive 2 Green Shards.) - 4 votes
    B) Help the Capsakid claim the berries from the Smoliv by fighting it. (+ 20 Reputation with the 'Scovillain Society' & receive 3 berries)
    C) Ignore them and carry on.

    Spoiler:

We set out for the Southern exit and pick up all the items we can. We fight alongside the Smoliv when we reach it.
The path we take is as follows:

While moving around the room we stepped on a Gust Trap before the fight: we were sent flying into the wall dead ahead, taking 5 damage.

    Pokemon Dungeon Escape - Act 1 - Chapter 3

We arrive in the Southern room. We can hear a Pokemon pleading for help as we enter the room.

    attachment.php

A Pokemon with a Yellow outline can be recruited for the team, but has a requirement that hasn't been met yet. In some cases it's as simple as helping them out of a bind. In other cases they'll ask us for something or ask us to defeat some Pokemon. There are also Pokemon who will only join us if our Reputation is high enough.
Pokemon with a Green outline are Pokemon who we can either recruit straight away or who's requirement we have already met before finding them.

The other room to our North has a hostile Rolycoly. The upper Eastern room appears to have two hostile Normal type Pokemon and the lower Eastern room appears to have a hostile Fairy type Pokemon. The Southern exit appears to be blocked off by some type of Door. Perhaps the nearby Abra knows more about it?

We have entered one of several Large rooms in this Act. A Large room can be navigated in 1 go if we have the means to traverse it. We currently lack a Water or Flying type and can't cross the Water. Therefore we can only navigate this part of the room this week, excluding the water:

    attachment.php

We can't attack the Surskit unless we both move to the water's edge.
We currently have only one new Exit available to use, but recruiting the Barboach would open up the rest of the room and we wouldn't have to leave.

    1) We took quite a bit of damage in the previous room and are left with only 7/22 HP. Should we heal?
    A) Eat an Oran Berry. Heals up to 100 HP.
    B) Eat the Sitrus Berry. Heals up to 250 HP.
    C) Don't eat a berry to Heal.

    2) Mouflon can hold one of the berries in preparation of the next fight. Should we equip a berry?
    A) Equip an Oran Berry.
    B) Equip a Pecha Berry.
    C) Equip a Rawst Berry.
    D) Don't equip any berries to hold.

    3) What should we do with the items in this room?
    A) Pick up all the items.
    B) Pick up only the berries.
    C) Pick up only the shards.
    D) Pick up only the Mystic Water.
    E) Pick up the berries and the shards.
    F) Pick up the Mystic Water and the berries.
    G) Pick up the Mystic Water and the shards.
    H) Don't pick any items up at all.

    4) The Poliwag is looking for a fight and will come towards us to get one. We can't avoid it. How should we fight it?
    A) Offensively; nothing but attacking moves and prioritizes super-effective attacks if possible.
    B) Balanced; Uses both Attacking moves as well as non-attacking moves. Prioritizes super-effective attacks if possible. Uses attacking moves 66% of the time on average.
    C) Defensively. Only attacks once every 3 turns. Uses the other two turns for non-attacking moves.

    5) The Surskit hasn't noticed us yet, but will probably come to the water's edge to try and fight us when/if we defeat the Poliwag. It can't leave the water. Do we fight it and if so how?
    A) Fight it. Offensively; nothing but attacking moves and prioritizes super-effective attacks if possible.
    B) Fight it. Balanced; Uses both Attacking moves as well as non-attacking moves. Prioritizes super-effective attacks if possible. Uses attacking moves 66% of the time on average.
    C) Fight it. Defensively. Only attacks once every 3 turns. Uses the other two turns for non-attacking moves.
    D) Stay away from the water's edge and avoid fighting it.

6-1) The Barboach can be recruited if we help it out by freeing it and defeating the Bidoof that captured it. What do we do?
    A) Fight the Bidoof, but ignore the Barboach and leave it to it's fate.
    B) Fight the Bidoof and free the Barboach, but don't recruit it.
    C) Fight the Bidoof, free the Barboach and recruit it.
    D) Ignore the Bidoof unless it attacks us and ignore the Barboach.

6-2) If we fight the Bidoof, how should we fight it?
    A) Offensively; nothing but attacking moves and prioritizes super-effective attacks if possible.
    B) Balanced; Uses both Attacking moves as well as non-attacking moves. Prioritizes super-effective attacks if possible. Uses attacking moves 66% of the time on average.

    1) A) Eat an Oran Berry. Heals up to 100 HP. Will probably faint to Poliwag otherwise.

    2) D) Don't equip any berries to hold. Might use the berry a little too early, if so. (Albeit, probably not for this upcoming fight. Depends on traps, of course.)

    3) A) Pick up all the items. Learned nothing from the previous trap. Hurt quite a bit for a gust trap. Wonders if, say, a splash trap would hurt more.

    4) A) Offensively; nothing but attacking moves and prioritizes super-effective attacks if possible. Doubts a positive return on a status move here.

    5) D) Stay away from the water's edge and avoid fighting it. Would rather wait for Barboach first.

6-1) C) Fight the Bidoof, free the Barboach and recruit it. Could use a Water type.

6-2) A) Offensively; nothing but attacking moves and prioritizes super-effective attacks if possible. Same reason as before.

6-3) A) Eat an Oran Berry. Heals up to 100 HP. Bets on taking enough damage from Poliwag and a trap to justify it.

    7) A) Take the other North exit. Expects Barboach to have Water Gun. Wants to harvest Rolycoly's experience before swimming around. (Ideally learns Thunder Shock on Mouflon first too. Needs it really badly, in general. Should pick that up at level...8?)

    A) Take the other North exit. - 2 votes
    B) Go back North one room and go East.
    C) Explore the rest of this Large room after recruiting Barboach.

    Spoiler:

We eat an Oran Berry to heal up and don't equip any berries to hold. We fight the Poliwag Offensively when we encounter it and avoid the Surskit.

    attachment.php

We pick up all the items and head towards the Bidoof. We step on a Sticky trap along the way. Our Yellow Shard became sticky and can't be used or exchanged until we either find a Cleanse Orb or finish the Act.

    attachment.php

We fight the Bidoof and free and recruit the Barboach to our team. We fight the Bidoof in Balanced mode and eat an Oran Berry before the fight to heal up.

    attachment.php

    attachment.php

We pick up the remaining items and take the other Northern Exit. We step on a Slow trap along the way. Mouflon's Speed fell drastically. To recover lowered stats we need to either find a hot spring, a wonder tile, or finish the act. This also applies for stats that have been lowered in battle such as Mouflon's Attack while fighting the Bidoof.

    1) A) Eat an Oran Berry. Heals up to 100 HP. Lost 12 of 22 hitpoints against Bidoof.

    2) B) Brave (+Attack, -Speed) Is not particularly fast to begin with. Might use physical attack sometimes.

3-1) B) Put Barboach in the lead. Water/Ground > Rock. Knows moves of both types too.

3-2) B) Balanced; Uses both Attacking moves as well as non-attacking moves. Prioritizes super-effective attacks if possible. Uses attacking moves 66% of the time on average. Should not be in front. Expects that to be a long fight, if it is.

    4) A) Pick up all the items. Unchecked greed.

    5) B) Have Barboach hold it. Duh.

    6) B) Take the Eastern Exit past the Strength Boulder. Wants to check out the shop.

    _________

Current stat stages: -1 Attack, -2 Speed. Hurts pretty bad. Makes stat-boosting moves quite valuable.

Eat the Oran Berry! So yummy...

    2B
I vote the Careful Nature. It never hurts to be cautious!

    3-1B
Put Barboach first, as a cave is not the best place for an Electric type to fight, and Rolycoly is dangerous for Mouflon.

    4B
Pick up the Aspear Berry and the Berry Juice!

    5B
    Barboach can have it!

    6B
    Let's go into the east!

The room to our North has a hostile bug type Pokemon and the room to our East has 2 hostile Fire types and 3 hostile Ground types.
In this room there are 2 merchants we can trade with as well as 3 Pokemon that have quests for us.

    attachment.php

    The merchant's inventory:

    The effects of the orbs:
-Blowback Orb: Knocks the targeted foe back into the wall behind them and they take 5 damage.
-Cleanse Orb: Cleans any sticky held items and sticky items in the inventory.
-See-Trap Orb: Reveals all traps in the current room.
-Totter Orb: Makes the targeted foe Confused.
    Orbs are single use items.

    Notice:
I'm not sure how to best handle merchant votes atm. Typing out every single option, including the variations where we only partially spend the shards, every single time would become very lengthy when the merchants' their inventories grow later on. I considered making it a Yes/No vote and having people specify the amounts if they vote yes, but the item types and amounts specified might be problematic then as well. Ended up going for the format below, but it might also cause conflicting outcomes...
In the event of a tie or conflicting outcomes amongst the merchant votes I'll attempt to find the best options manually, for now.

With our current shards we can only buy some berries. We have 4 Green shards to spend.

1-1) Do we buy any Cheri berries?
    A) Yes, buy 4.
    B) Yes, buy 3.
    C) Yes, buy 2.
    D) Yes, buy 1.
    E) No, don't buy any.

1-2) Do we buy any Oran berries?

    C) No, don't buy any.

1-3) Do we buy any Pecha berries?
    A) Yes, buy 2.
    B) Yes, buy 1.

  • 1-1D: Just one cheri berry, since we don't have it yet

    1-2B: Buy one oran berry

    1-3C: I don't think we need them

1-4D: Buy an extra rawst berry, since we're going against fire types

2-1B: Hmmm not that keen on this one

    2-2A: Sounds like fun!

2-3A: Might as well, if we're going to end up returning to the shop

    3B: Eastern exit, I want a fire-type!

1-1) D) Yes, buy 1. Seems unlikely to get paralyzed in the next few fights. Does not hurt to plan ahead.

1-2) B) Yes, buy 1. Burns through Oran Berries quickly.

1-3) C) No, don't buy any. Found two Pecha Berries already.

1-4) E) No, don't buy any. Picked up one Rawst Berry already.

2-1) C) Don't talk to Chespin. Holds off on accepting for a better type match-up. Sees no point in refusing the quest.

2-2) A) Talk to Torterra and accept it's quest. Why not?

2-3) A) Talk to Chikorita and accept it's quest. Already grabs everything, so why not?

    3) B) The Eastern exit. Spots a boulder in the way. Will likely be unable to do anything. Might as well scout it out now.

    __________

Not really sure on a good method for buying items either. Thought about a priority list. Could run into problems that way too.

    Pokemon Dungeon Escape - Act 1 - Chapter 6

We arrive in the Eastern room. The Hippopotas in front of us can't be avoided and has to be fought.
All the other Pokemon can be avoided depending on our actions in the room; if we don't grab any items near them or take an exit that they are near to.
For example: if we only grab the Lum, Oran and Persim berries and the Green Shard and take one of the lower exits then we'll only end up fighting the two Charcadets near them.
Or if we grab just the Lum berry and Berry Juice and take the Northern exit we only have to fight the other Hippopotas.
Unless we voted to fight all enemies, in which case that will take priority.

The Northern room has 3 hostile Bug types and 2 hostile Water types. The upper Eastern room has no Pokemon that are hostile towards us.
The lower Eastern exit and Southern exit both lead to the same room which has 5 hostile Ground types and 2 hostile Normal types.
The Western room has 2 hostile Electric types and 1 hostile Fire type.

    A) No, keep Barboach in the lead.

    C) Defensively. Only attacks once every 3 turns. Uses the other two turns for non-attacking moves.
Barboach doesn't have any non-attacking moves and will be defaulted to fighting Offensively.

Oh, right. Moves Strength boulders with Ground. Even better.

Cannot see all of the images. Displays nothing for the quests, inventory, and the dungeon map (the one in the spoiler). Gets a 404 when putting in the URL manually. Sees the Team Roundabout one fine, though. Gleans some of the quest stuff through the non-image part.

1-1) A) No, keep Barboach in the lead.
1-2) A) Offensively; nothing but attacking moves and prioritizes super-effective attacks if possible. Might wind up Thunder Waving the Hippopotas otherwise.
    2) D) Don't heal up. Enters the room at 17/20 hitpoints. Should be fine for the first Hippopotas.
    3) C) Pick up the berries and Berry Juice and the Green Shard. Engages with Toedscruel by picking up everything. No thanks. Should avoid it with this option.
    4) E) Fight the second Hippopotas and both Charcadets. Stays far away from Toedscruel. Knows Absorb. Feasts on the rest.
    5) B) Eat an Oran Berry. Heals up to 100 HP.. Hits decently hard with Tackle. Probably needs it around this point.
    6) G) No, don't heal up. Should be fine after the first Charcadet, assuming a heal just before. Sees no point in healing after the Charcadets without knowing the damage. Deals with that next time.
    7) E) Take the Western exit. Fares well against enemies in the southwest, south, and southeast. Handles this exit's the best.

Whew. Lots of conditionals on this set. Is reminded of a co-op game where you submit all of your moves, then hope you do not accidentally get in the way of your teammates. Cannot remember the name off-hand.

Edit: Probably Space Alert. Could be wrong. Did not play it very much.

Idk why, but for some reason the attachments seem to disapoof when I take to long to make a post.
It tends to take me 2-3 hours just to pull everything I've prepared together and turn it into the weekly post.
The images were still showing for me, but I forgot to check the 'attached thumbnails' at the bottom which are a dead giveaway for this.... 🙄
There was only 1 thumbnail at the bottom of the post when I opened the thread again.
I've re-uploaded all the images. Now there's considerably more =P

Anyway they should be working now.

We do not heal after fighting the second Hippopotas, but do heal after fighting both the Charcadets.
    We take the Western Exit.

The path we take is as follows:

We stepped on a Mud Trap in between fighting the two Charcadets. Barboach's Attack harshly fell.

    The fights:
    Spoiler:

During all those fights both Mouflon and Barboach have leveled up once and have learned new move(s).

    Notice:
There were errors in the max PP Barboach's moves had... I must've looked at the wrong stat when filling those in.... probably the move's Power instead.
    I've corrected it.

Thank goodness for an actual move on Moufflon.

1-1) A) No, keep Barboach in the lead. Favors Barboach a lot.

1-2) A) Offensively; nothing but attacking moves and prioritizes super-effective attacks if possible. Would like to use Rest to conserve hitpoints. Risks getting Tail Whipped. Causes more problems in the long run.

    2) B) Yes, Eat an Oran Berry. Heals up to 100 HP. Prefers saving a status heal in the event of Sleep. Has a Lum Berry, sure. Would rather use an Oran now.

    3) A) Pick up all items. Sees no reason not to loot the room. Traps? Psh.

    4) A) Yes, fight the Numel. Offensively; nothing but attacking moves and prioritizes super-effective attacks if possible. Water > Numel.

    5) B) Take the Eastern Southern exit. Indifferent to the specific southern exit. Wants to head to the Hot Spring. Hopefully connects. Trusts Moufflon to handle the Water types in the west now, if not.
