News: "Pokemon Generations" anime shorts. (Article in thread OP)

^ Was that Laura Bailey voicing Lorelei in that short? Also, seeing Arbok made me wish Agatha was a Poison specialist rather than a Ghost specialist.

Decent episode. The time restrictions clearly got in the way though, and I really thought Green's face and voice were unfitting. He looked and sounded way friendlier than he should have.

Lorelei and Agatha. <3 Not sure how I feel about Agatha's dubbed voice acting but I always did love her as a character. Red showing up at the end though.. my god. Goosebumps.

First two episodes were great, have high hopes for the third. I'm surprisingly overwhelmed with this miniseries so far!

I was kinda hoping to see if there was a champion before Blue. Guess not... XP

I enjoyed the third episode although I'm not sure if I 100% loved the portrayal of the E4. Something about them was a little iffy to me, but it was an enjoyable episode nonetheless and it was nice to see Green's rise in the Pokémon League.

He looked like he was just brooding in that champion room though, staring and fidgeting with his Pokéball in the dark... lol Gave me a good chuckle.

^ Also that it's only 3 mins long. It must be hard to show it being difficult to defeat someone, whilst doing so very quickly, haha. I loved Agatha's voice acting, but I agree that Green's actual voice didn't seem to fit him. I thought he sounded more nerdy than arrogant (not that you can't sound like both, haha). Regardless, I am loving Generations so far. I'm so glad we're getting this

Am I the only one who feels like the writing in episode 3 was extremely weak?

I like the first two episodes, very different but both great for one reason: the way they portrayed Pokemon in a new way or situation.
It was uncanny yet cool seeing Pikachu making different noises and drawn a different way, and it was flipping fantastic watching a police force put various Pokemon skills to work for them in practical, out-of-battle situations.

In episode 3 the only thing like that we got was Gengar's entrance (which was boss), and the rest of the episode was snippets of mundane battling and very weak dialogue/storytelling.

It was also really rushed, due to it only being 3 minutes. I would have preferred them to be longer so they could flesh out some more events; not necessarily add more action, and maybe not making them a full episode length, but maybe 10 minutes?

I felt the current generations episodes were reallllyyy rushed. Not sure if I really loved them that much.

Weak? I feel like the point of the episode was to show how strong Green was, not his struggles. If it were to have shown his struggles, I'm sure it would have been made into two parts. I do suppose that I wanted to see "Trainer" (Red) battle Green, but maybe some other time.

There's only so much footage you can show in four minutes, sadly. Perhaps future episodes will be longer in length, but who knows. Time is precious.

I wasn't asking for seeing his struggles or even for more expansive scenes. I think the cut-away scenes method is valid. And I'd rather have a short experience that is polished than a long experience that contains filler.

But each of those quick scenes felt poorly written in my opinion. The dialogue sounded laskluster.
It's ok if you disagree, this is just an opinion piece.

From my understanding Green and Red in the games just blazed through the E4 one after the other, that's why they were so good. I'm just sad it was only 3 minutes. With this animation it would have looked really good to see a longer fight.

Pretty good episode. Lance was great in it and dragonite had cool scenes. Wish Ethan had a bigger role but it was nice to see him there.

That first animation Dragonite does is rad.

All joking aside, it's good to see episode 3 was just an outlier and they're back to making great episodes again. I enjoyed that.

Either Team Rocket was drunk in that scene or trying out for the Walking Dead in that scene. Seriously, what was with their walking there?

Yeah there walking was extremely weird. Although, it kinda reminds me of how I think Team Skull would walk.

But the animation was extremely weak here. Glad they used Gold instead of Red though. So hopes for White getting animated is still on the table.
