For Pokémon as in the general terms. Its to me, is a single player world. It's you after all taking on the hero's journey. A main series of events that you and you alone get to experience. But transition that to an online aspect. It becomes a shared world and yet its not.
For most pokemon games, seems to be encouraging single play. Or in the event its an online version. Its playing along side others in the shared world but, your still alone and that brings the question.
What happens After?
For the actual games, well. Alot of people like playing by themselves. The story plot, the leveling. and that's perfectly fine. Its the choice. ( take the anime Overlord, Sword Art online, or Solo Leveling)
But for an mmo/online experience, while anyone can do that. You have the option to share that experience with specific group of close companions.
Sometimes your happy, having people around , as free thinking background characters. You know they arnt NPS, they are people just like you. But, there's no\little interaction. And others are happy to log in and see familiar faces waiting for you. The anime itself, really pushed the idea that the main character is almost always joined by other experiencing the adventure.
Its a fascinating topic I've been looking at. And wondering how "THIS" world will take on that idea. And what you all will do?
Personally. I do like the idea of Team work. Putting down a goal for the week or a raid challenge. People who are part of a shared world taking part in something greater themselves , saying "We did that together"
But maybe your the lone wolf type? Aiming to be the best at every aspect of a game, so you can enjoy the effort you put into it. so you can say " Im here on my own merits"
Its fully possible to go on the same journey, working towards a goal. But not together.
Share your thoughts on my little ramble...Thank you if you took the time to read it. *sips coffee..* And salute to those who share a response.
