Pokemon you wouldn't use if they didn't have Mega evolutions?

Are there any Pokemon that you never used before or don't think you'd have ever used if they didn't have a Mega Evolution?
For me, it's Absol. I've never been tempted to use one before, but now I have one in my team in Omega Ruby because I'll inevitably make it Mega evolve when I get the stone.

I never really had the desire to use Absol, really. I feel that it's stats are a bit low and it's Mega Form really didn't help out. It's typing is weak to one of the more common types and I've never seen it perform very stellar in battles. But that's just me. I have, however, used the glass cannon that is Mega Mawile. Giving that thing Huge Power and putting 255 IVs into speed can nearly guarantee it can eat the slower Pokémon before they get a chance to move. 210 Base power isn't anything to sneeze at.

Beedrill. Although I may use one as I finish the game's story, I will not use one in competitive play, until now. xD

Mawile. Never really had a spot for her in my in-game team. But while I was building my first competitive team, I got bored of Mega Charizard, so I tried having a Mega Mawile. I love her now. x3

    And... I guess that's it. :/
I only have a limited number of 'mons I like to carry. :3

Oh, this is a tough one. There aren't many, honestly; almost all Pokémon they had given a mega-evolution thus far, I still likely would have used them had they not gotten one.

Though, one Pokémon I'm unable to put into this category, if I were to out my finger on it, would… probably have to be Gardevoir, I'd say. Although I do find myself utilizing it every now and again in-game, I had never touched the Pokémon competitively until its mega-form came to be (which had generally made Gardevoir much, much more easy to use).

Aside from above, two others are Mawile and Absol due to similar reasons; in their normal form, they aren't as great, but do become better once they mega-evolve.

Mawile, Altaria, Charizard, Aerodactly. Competitively speaking anyway. Regular Mawile and Altaria are reallly meh, but they have really good megas. Charizard is a pokemon I've always liked, used in-game, but in the competitive scene was never that good until it got its fantastic pair of mega evolutions. Aerodactly is a Pokemon I've never really looked at before but recently came to like cuz it's Mega is pretty nice. Increased Attack and Speed+Tough Claws is pretty nice

    Not really.

I've always liked Mawile, Beedrill, and Glalie.

Having Megas just made them- not suck.

So now I can have them on my teams and not have people laugh at me.

I think it's safe to say that I wouldn't be using Kangaskhan if it didn't have that Mega Evolution. Granted, it's banned by Smogon anyway, but it's fun for specific in-game usages. And I guess Pinsir, Venusaur and Charizard (but not the latter two as starters). Not to mention Glalie, having that Refrigerate was a major boost to it. Not to mention Beedrill.

But there have been plenty of Pokémon i've liked even without their Megas, like Altaria, Absol, and even Lopunny. I could name more on that...

Mawile is one I haven't used until it got a mega. Same with Metagross, Blastoise/Venasaur. I am training a mawile in X, I have a trained Venasaur and Blastoise in X too, and I have to trained Metagross' in AS.

I never used these pokemon before, I didn't even know that some of them exist.
Lopunny, Glalie, Audino, Absol, Mawile, and Abomasnow.

Perhaps Absol and Mawile. I love the pokemon as they are but I never quite used them. But with Mega evos, things certainly get more interesting. Not to mention how nice their designs are!

I don't know if it's coincidence, but I'd never considered using Swablu/Altaria prior to OR/AS, and now that it gets a mega evolution, it's the most powerful member of my party. I guess the same kind of applied to Absol in X/Y, though you don't get the Absolite until the post game, and I pretty much stopped playing after I beat the Elite Four. Still, I think the fact that it had a mega evolution now was sitting in the back of my mind when I picked it for my team.

I've never considered using Houndoom before until I saw his mega evo. He looks really cool so I'm giving him a go in AS and he's been a really great member on my team so far. I don't regret trading Charizard out for him.

Sceptile is another. I'm not a fan of Blaziken or Swampert so I probably would have used him anyway, but his megaevolution is really cool. Makes me think of a bearded dragon for some weird reason. He's been really good on my team so far as well and I've grown attached to him. Definitely the only grass type I'd consider using again.

    Beedrill, absofreakinglutely.

Other mentions are Audino, Medicham, Mawile, Altaria, etc. The list is pretty extensive, which I guess is a good thing considering that I would actually use them now lol.
