Popular games that never interested you

Not just first-person shooters, but any game from a first-person perspective never really appealed to me. Something just feels too unnatural about playing from the character's point of view, which is why I can never get into those types of games. MMOs don't really interest me either, as the only one that I had minimal interest in was DC Universe Online, and even that only kept me occupied for a day or two.

Other than that, I think the biggest series that I never got into was the Legend of Zelda. I mean, I even own a limited edition Gold LoZ DS Lite, but I've never played a game in the series for more than a few minutes, and I don't really have any desire to.

The Elder Scrolls. There, I said it. :P
I dunno what it is about it. Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim... I have this thing about buying them, putting a few hours into it, and completely losing interest. I don't even know if that's accurate -- I'm not entirely sure I've ever had interest in a TES game.
And not even just a few hours - I played Oblivion for days.. but I just never really got into it. I bought Skyrim on two different Steam accounts and put a fair chunk of time into them combined. Even thought about buying the Legendary Edition, "Maybe this will make me want to play it. Maybe I'll even enjoy it."
But it just never really sticks. I've never finished a TES game. I don't think I've ever gotten halfway through one.

On the flip-side, I absolutely adore the Fallout series, even including Bethesda's new take on it.

Mass Effect. I love Dragon Age, I think that Bioware are a fantastic developer but...I just can't seem to get myself into Mass Effect, even though I really want to since all my friends rave about it so frequently.

Same.
Though I don't exactly think very highly of Bioware, lol. But I loved Dragon Age and absolutely hated Mass Effect. Which is weird for me -- I'd usually take a spacey game over a medieval setting. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

MOBAs and MMOs just aren't my thing in general, so I won't bother listing any of those.

Bioware pretty much went to shit when EA bought them, but they were phenomenal back in the day.

Okay, so I actually looked them up, because I've only ever known them for more recent titles like DA and ME.. Guess I never really paid attention to developers' names.

But apparently they did Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights, so now I have to retract my previous statement and agree with you on that.

Yeah, the period when they were making Dungeons & Dragons games was their pinnacle. Personally, I'd say Knights of The Old Republic was the last really great game they made, although admittedly I never played Jade Empire.

Assassin's Creed, CoD, Mass Effect, Halo....okay screw it, all/most major franchises of the last decade, bar some outliers like Borderlands, Skyrim, Fallout 3. I just feel outside of Japan developed game, there is a stagnant feel to most games outside of some major exceptions, and most of them are on the PS2 for me, like Criterion's Burnout games.

I have never been interested in Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts. I never got into either when I had my PS2 and now I feel it's too late to get into Kingdom Hearts and FF just seems too complicated after twenty-some iterations.

Skyrim, Call of Duty, The newer Batman games. They just never really clicked with me. I suppose the hardcore fans constantly telling me to play (this only counts for the last 2 tbh) sort of turns me off too.

- Fighting games in general (Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Injustice, Tekken etc). I've played them but it's just not my thing.
- Boring standard FPS games with nothing interesting to offer. Battlefield, Call of Duty, etc. Same with Halo but I have more respect for Halo. I do like some FPS games though. Bioshock and Borderlands spring to mind, predominantly the latter.
- Assassin's Creed. I played the first game and thought it was pretty boring, then played II and enjoyed it. Then played the two spin-offs of II and realised that it's just the same. And it hasn't stopped since. Horrible combat, boring traversal, AWFUL collectibles scattered everywhere to pad out game time, repetitive missions, crappy story (at least outside of the Animus.) I really dislike Assassin's Creed.
- Dragon Age. Granted, I only played Origins, but it totally failed to grasp me. It seemed very generic, the world was bland, combat was pretty boring. I've heard bad things about DA2, but Inquisition seems to be getting a good response so I might end up trying it at some point.

Call Of Duty, Battlefield or pretty much any FPS shooter for that manner. I don't see anything enjoyable about the genre itself at all.

Call of Duty/ Battlefield. Both of them are primarily focused on online gameplay, and well, I suck. XD

League of Legends. While, I have to admit, most champions are badass (well their concept art at least), but god I hate the gameplay.

GTA 5 IMO the award winner of most hyped game ever, it's good, but it ain't great.

Any FPS. I don't see myself ever getting into these, as I've tried a couple times with friends, and I just can't. Also, i only own handheld Nintendo consoles, so I wouldn't have the biggest selection either.

For me, I would say one is Halo.

I'm a huge fan of first-person shooter games, generally, but Halo series in particular has never seemed to have had clicked on me, unfortunately. Many of my friends are into it, leading me to eventually give a shot at the video game myself at one point, but what ticked me off is the futuristic aspects it had surrounded. Things like this don't precisely bother me in other type of games, but in my eyes, for some reason, they are sort of hard to accept in shooters.

I wasn't such a huge follower of Call of Duty, either, but that was before I'd discovered how fun some shooter video games could be in actuality; now, I am a big fan. Though, there are definitely some titles from this series I found myself slightly disliking (due to lag troubles, range of available weapons, and other kinds of dilemma), with one being Ghosts.

Unfortunately, I'm gonna have to reverse the question in order to answer it properly.

Literally the ONLY popular franchises I've ever played are Pokémon, Zelda, and Smash (everything else I play has a miniscule fanbase). I wouldn't mind trying out other popular games, but I'm not exactly a "true" gamer.

Halo never got my attention aside from the second one and whooping on friends.

Madden and Fifa, never touched those.
And I was never a fan of the point and click adventures. Nearly any game where you point and click your way to victory is on this list
Forza. I'm a Gran Turismo fan, and Forza doesn't make the cut.
Fire Emblem. In terms of strategy games on the hand helds, I stick with Advance Wars
Phoenix Wright. I've waded my way through a real legal system, thank you. Boring. As. Procreation.
Any Capcom ever (Mega Man is the only exception)
