Good news to the Canadians who are reading this, you don't have to fear punishment because Serebii has revealed the release date of OR/AS for you guys to be November 21st, which is even with the rest of the non-Europe regions.

At least we can finally put the "oh no they're gonna punish us Canadians for releasing X/Y early" thing to rest.
Hallelujiah.

I don't get why it took them (Nintendo, not Serebii) so long to come up with that information. But maybe we'll finally get pre-order things started here.

Hopefully, there's been no news on pre-order gifts.

As for the delay, perhaps they thought of delaying it but the continental Nintendo Headquaters (is it Nintendo of America that is the continental HQ for North America (or even all of the Americas?) thought it would complicate things throughout the region with the different release dates. Also the outrage for the rest of the region getting it the 21 but Canada not getting it.

So it's just Europe who are waiting that extra week?

I'm actually surprised that it's specifically Europe only who have to wait an extra week when everywhere else gets them on 21st. I was completely expecting them to do a simultaneous worldwide release again. It's not a problem, just fun to play along the same time as everyone else!

At least it's not as big of a gap compared to previous generations where the rest of the world had to wait months after the Japanese. I do feel sorry for those European players who want to do a blind playthrough of the game, because they risk getting spoiled by players from the rest of the world who already have the games.

There's nothing much to spoil since we know the plot and characters of the games, but I do prefer for everyone to be in the same level. I suppose it prolongs the hype and excitement for us! n_n

Maybe Europe is getting punished because Italy decided it didn't want to wait for XY's release date! Although Canada released the game early too, so I guess this logic is flawed.
I think they might've considered punishing Canada too, hence the delay in announcing it's release date, but chose the 21st in the end.

I really hope we get a good pre-order bonus here in Europe to make up for the week difference... I can most likely cope with the gap, I'll distract myself with other games or work (if I get a job)

I'm happy for the Canadians who don't have to suffer though, it was bad enough that you had no release date at all for a while!

It's called "hey, the Canadian went to America and bought the game, we can't accuse him or her of breaking release dates"...and realized that the idea of punishing Canada without punishing America at the same time was a stupid one.

'Nuff said.

And imagine if I went to a midnight release event and was like, "Yeah, I challenge you with my Lv.50 team as soon as you begin..."

Yeah, I know how you feel there. Maybe with the next games they can finally pull of a simultaneous worldwide release perfectly, as in no specific region breaks the street date early and therefore causing spoilers to drop all over the internet.
