Maybe once you defeat the four gym leaders there can be a checkpoint, so that if you say lose to the champion, you just have to re-challenge the elite members rather than all the gym leaders? Otherwise most of the battling will be concentrated on the first gym leader.
That's kind of a neat idea, checkpoint after the leaders but before the Elite 4? It sorta makes sense too, since you're done with the gyms and have to go through victory road and stuff before you start the elite 4. Anyone else got a stance on this?
Its really just 1 or 2 specialist pokes so gym leaders dont get steamrolled in a bad matchup. I think there will still be a feeling of authenticity haha

Ehh... Yeah, perhaps, perhaps... I'm glad the poll got changed so we can really see how many people feel each way about this, 6 to 8 so far.... so how about we meet halfway-? The poll, if Monotype wins, we don't HAVE to do all monotype still, UNLESS - there's
two times as many votes for monotype, as there are non-monotype. So unless there's seriously a 2:1 ratio of people who want monotype gyms, we can have a single flex pokemon? Does that sound fair? (maybe 2 if there's high demand for that. Maybe.)
Isnt it suppose to be hard? Monotype isnt hard. Just do it like Smogon Frontier. The "leaders" bring their best team. And they win. It's suppose to be impossible. That's why only like 3 people have beaten the Smogon Frontier the three seasons (Rey, Bloo and someone else I think).
I can do GSC/ADV and go undefeated with zero issue if needed.
Firssst of all - we're not Smogon. Secondly, we don't want it to be impossible. Thirdly, I hope more than 3 people in a given amount of years will be able to do this. Especially since I'm guessing members will wanna challenge the league themselves. (we should probably make up rules about that too btw)

(although really you'll probably have a bit of time tomorrow since it's not like anyone's gonna lock the challengers after midnight tonight.)

You wanna prove your "community/website/whatever" is competent, and not just a bunch of retards. Bring your best people. And win. Discover new talents. Get reconizion. Don't end up as "the place where the moderators were beaten by casuals". Don't fall back; challenge Smogon. Don't let Smogon be the only place to be. Because then I've got nowhere to trashtalk.
Heh, well - y'know I am pretty sure PokeCommunity isn't incompetent, and we doooo have an OU tournament, which I'd wager is fairly chock full of highly competitive players, as well as I'm pretty sure a number of other tournaments and battling clubs. I allllso think nobody's gonna assume we're a bunch of retards, because they beat us in a Pokemon League we organized, where we did have monotyped teams. :P Y'know, to do something better than Smogon, you don't have try and do the same thing as them. And I personally really hope this doesn't become anything close to a smogon-knock off league. Boo on that.
