What I'm saying is that I'm physically unable to edit the OP myself because BTB isn't my section; I'm not authorized to edit posts outside of the X/Y section, so besides the thread maker, it would fall to wolf, Zeffy, or an smod to edit the OP, and I don't want to throw that job on them.

You're missing my point. I've been in a vBulletin control panel before, maybe ten years ago. Admins. can grant or take away permissions at will through that. It's possible for a regular member to be moderator of a specific section without being labeled as a moderator on-site or access the staff forum. It's just like labeling "community supporters" - nothing on-site unlocks that, they have to be set by admins.

You could be set as a moderator of the sub-forum WITHOUT being moderator in the section at all. Just ASK. :)

If there were going to be emblems involved, it should only be for when you've beaten the league.

I like this. Maybe one for Gyms, one for E2-E4. As for badges, those can be noted in the OP.

THAT...I do not think can be done. That's why I suggested a sub-forum.

And hey, having a sub-forum for leagues in general wouldn't be a bad idea. Look at Serebii, as someone noted.

If there were more leagues than just ours atm, I'm sure that the admins wouldn't mind making a subsection in BTB for leagues, but since we are the only league on PC right now, I highly doubt that they'd wanna make one just for one league.

I'm still wondering if they'd make the sub-forum under the assumption that "hey, here's a first one, maybe if we show we're invested in the idea, more will follow" type of thing. And have someone in charge of the leagues in general.

Ya know what, there's a thread I can drop this into and see what wolf and Zeffy think about it. If they're cool with the idea of a league subsection, then we can bring it to an admin and see what happens.

I was thinking of myself asking an admin. to pop in here, but not sure if any are online. I figured since they see the control panel already, they'd know to what extent the permissions they can provide, but oitherwise I agree that this forum's moderators should have a voice in this discussion as well. Definitely bring them in. :)

Yeah, its a lot to read. I don't blame ya for skipping most of it.

There are still spots open for Gym Leaders, and we're going with both Showdown and 3DS. Half of the league members will be battling on Showdown, the other half on 3DS.

Also guys, we're probably not gonna hear back from wolf about the whole league subsection thing until tomorrow....

I already figured we wouldn't hear anything till tomorrow or even the next day. I saw one vanished just after 9:00. Figured gone for the evening.

I think we should start drafting types soon. I guess Antebellum will pick first, I'll pick second, etc. How about a reverse pick where we all pick one type, then the last person picks their second type and we go back up towards the top that way?

Sorry for holding up the draft a few hours today guys, promise once this conventions over I'll be present as a delibird once again. Hah, not surprised to see Dragon as first or second pick. Nice - I'll take flying type.

Also; I did a quick skimming of the last few pages, few things of note - Euphoric, the top down, then bottom up method of picking types seems pretty fair, and very conducive to minimizing overlap. That should keep types from being over picked such as having 3 dragon leaders, and let even lower picks get at least 1 type they like for their gym.

On the topic of challenger teams - with the leaders being locked into types, even if it's two, the challengers need a constraint to keep them from using any regular competitive level team and trampling the whole league. If they can swap out pokes at will, carrying competitive monster to deal with every type in the flex spots, the league will be underpowered. Personally I think the locked into 6 for the initial run is a good idea. That being said if you lose, you would have to start over - which would mean being completely free to pick and change whatever you want about your team, since you're back at the beginning anyways. (unless it's after that Elite 4 checkpoint someone brought up, in which case whomever mentioned being allowed to change a poke after 6 losses, I agree with.)

Anywho - Flying is my first pick. Bet whomever was hoping for Talonflames in their gym right now is pretty rankled. Mwahaha. I'll PM whoever's next on Zekrom's list to let them know they're up.

PS - We may need a time limit on draft picks before the pick skips that person to keep things moving.

Charizard Man is next pick, and we're all keeping track of who picks which type, by copying and pasting that list in all of our posts, as it goes from one of us to the next with our pick updating it.
