So ten challengers walk in and take down six of the Leaders (out of eight) all on the first shot. All six are expelled? :P It's possibly to always lose with one Pokémon left. And rather than expel them, it might be best to talk to fellow Leaders, even show a Battle Video or two via saving to your profile for online viewing. I say take it on a case-by-case basis. I myself am still a battle novice, but Leaders are supposed to be specialized in their types. With certain additions, they'd be unstoppable, but there will often be holes that can be exploited sticking to a single type. If every challenger finds the hole, that's not the Leader's fault. It is the Leader's fault if they don't patch that hole and make challengers find another avenue in the future.

That said, ten consecutive losses does seem high. I doubt many of us will still get there. I might at first, but like I said, I'm still somewhat novice. I learn by doing. And learning from your mistakes is how to do it.

Back to the Champion thing: why should a former Champion have to rechallenge the entire league? They've proven they can beat every Leader; why make them start over? If anything, make them run the E4 and Champion all together again under the "same six" rule; the E4 serves as the door to the Champion, as in the games. But no need to go back to the Gym Leaders IMO. Once you have the badges, you have the badges.

I agree, thats why i said, if it were to happen, it should be discussed. You are right and i agree it should be taken case by case. The whole champion thing, the way you put it, its how is going to happen. You just worded it better i guess lolz.

Hey no worries mate ^^ at least you had the foresight to tell someone else in case it got to your turn and you weren't here. Now to PM Falkabalk again.

While we talk out Champion roles and expectations for leaders by the way, we may want to also set down the groundwork for leaders / elites challenging the league themselves, if such a thing can be done.

Holy ♥♥♥♥, you guys look like you got some ♥♥♥♥ done. It's especially nice to see that the type draft is moving along. I'll read it all more thoroughly and respond later; I've gotta go to work in like 10 minutes.

So, just wondering here, but can mobile hotspot work for 3DS? If it does, I MAY be able to use my phone to connect myself to the internet and I can then use my tablet to use the forum and I can battle on my 3DS, I'm not sure if it would work, and I need to check how long I get to use free WiFi, as I've already gone over my limit by £20 this year, if I go over again even once this year, it's bye bye cellphone :/

EDIT: Nevermind, if I want to stay in my limit, I can only use the internet for 4 and half minutes a day if I want to use it everyday :/ Oh well, I tried...

It seems unfair to allow that. While we are putting ourselves out as "the best", keep in mind all of us are filling initial roles (even if we earned them in some cases, like Antebellum could have been Champion). Anyone leaving the league should still challenge the league as a regular challenger in order to prove themselves worthy of becoming Champion, and the same rules apply to them as to anyone else; if they defeat the existing Champion, great, but if not, they don't hold down a role in the league.

Again, just IMO, but it's like when whoever Blue beat in the first game was ousted.

I agree. Personally because it gives purpose to the league.

((sorry for the inactivity again. I'm on vacation until Sunday))

Evidently we're going backwards. I disagreed myself; I would have thought the Elite Four get their preferred choice of typings first.

Am I allowed to participate in this? I've just read most of the thread. I'd like to apply as a
Ice/Fairy user on XY :3

If accepted, you'll get the 16th slot. At this point, Normal, Fighting, and Poison are primary types available.

As for second slot, you might be able to get Ice or Fairy, but not both. Since both are still available and we were working backwards anyway, they're options.

Frankly, of those two, I hope you'd pick Fairy. I already have something weak to Fairy types, and I need to counter that with my other selection. {XD}

Hmm maybe not, I dont think we have enough people unless some of us double up
This is why I did not like combining them in a single "draft" in the first place. The idea of course was to spread types out, but I hope we can juggle around based on what's covered on each side before setting final teams. If so, then after we split up the groups later, I have an idea for handling this.

Oh, right, I keep forgetting Zekrom's not in power here...

YOUR POWERLESS HERE, ZEKROM! IF YOU DIDN'T NAME YOURSELF AFTER ONE OF MY FAVORITE POKEMON OF ALL TIME, YOU WOULD OF BEEN OBLIVION WINGED!

(EDIT) Did I go overboard threatening Zekrom with Oblivion Wing?
;_; You meanie, I'm gonna go tell hstaff on you!

lol, nah, I'm kidding; it's cool, it's cool.

I more or less agree with this. We should took at Leader expulsion on a case by case basis in regards to losses (the other stuff, such as inactivity or getting banned is easy enough, that's basically an auto expulsion). Perhaps ten consecutive losses is a little high, but we don't want it to be low either. I think that 10 should be a rough guideline and not a strict rule. I also second what you're saying about the Champion; unless there's been a drastic change in the league roster since they last became champ, they shouldn't have to do all the Gym Leaders again. The E4 and current champ is enough, since they've already proved that they are a skilled battler.

Also, about new Gym Leaders: I think we should wait on assigning them types since we started going back up the list. They can pick their types from what's left. New people will be at the bottom anyway, and while all the slots aren't filled right now, we have enough people to at least get started with the battles.

I don't see why Tetra can't join now, unless we have enough X/Y leaders (why I don't think is true).

I just hope no one picks the type I want :(

We can certainly add new people to the list. IIRC, we still have 2 X/Y and 3 Showdown slots left open. It's just that they're gonna have to wait on type selection.

Was referring to the actual leader positions x)

Also on another note, maybe the newer applicants, cobra commander and tetra can just battle each other to determine spots?

Idk if that's necessary, seeing as how the only positions left are Gym Leader ones. They both could get spots.

I'm fine with Normal Type as a primary type and Fairy as a second. I just need to get officially signed and I'll get to work ^_^
