So.....if no one minds, I think that we should be done with this particular matter now.

Looking at the poll, 6 people are in favor of allowing the use of Megas whose base form fits one of the types but the mega form doesn't, whereas 4 people are against the use of Megas who don't match the types.

So it seems that by majority vote, we are going to allow ourselves to use Pokemon with a base form that matches the types but the mega form doesn't.

....unless y'all feel like I'm ending this prematurely.

that's no fair! you gave them cookies zekrom :C

Theeeere's no butthurt, lets not antagonize one another either - Cobra, MegaSeeker, and Lobrix do all seem to be within their rites to give up positions, but we'd need replacements first anyways. :I Anyone up for an ad campaign this week elsewhere than BTB on the forum?

Also, dragging this discussion out of the challenge thread into here where it should be,

So I can legally be put to sleep, unable to do anything with whoever is in battle, and I'm supposed to be willing to accept taking a free hit just to send the sleeper out of danger, only for the sleeper to come back out and die a painful death later?

Sorry, doesn't seem fair to me.

Yes, it is a common and often beneficial move to switch a sleeping pokemon out of battle, to prevent it from being KO'd, to bring in something else. The sleeping pokemon could be invaluable for your team against your current opponent, your other pokemon may be able to stage a comeback without the fear of sleep since you already have one pokemon asleep, there are a lot of reasons to do that. This is legit one of the few rules I agree with Swagon on. Sleep's just about the most crippling status on any pokemon along with freeze, thank god there's not a 100% freeze move.

That's the reason I dislike sleep competitively. And since you mention it, Freeze too, but that is a side effect of certain attacks with a 10% chance of hitting and is just unlucky. But I brought up the example of Spore. It's a 100% sleep move. I disagree with the fact that an opponent can literally incapacitate a Pokémon and render it immune. I really, REALLY wish I had something I could breed Spore on right now, in fact.

If you have a grass type pokemon or pokemon with overcoat, spore won't work on them

Notice there is no Dark or Fairy type with Overcoat.

You can see why this is a valid complaint in regards to a Dark/Fairy Gym. It's like I have to plan for something to not be used. It might as well be a 6-on-5.

"Sup. Also have you met my friend, he gets Heal Bell?"

"Hi. Im Umbreon."

Anyway lol, there is also fairies or Dark types with Heal Bell, Aromatherapy and even stuff with Insomnia. Idg why you are struggling.

If you're really scraping the barrel there is also Rest and Sleep Talk which basically any Pokemon can get.

That's a part of battles. You want to incapacitate the opponent's pokes. Prankster Taunt completely disables most walls. Burns shut down most non-Fire physical attackers. There are ways to limit way sleep does to you (switching out is the big one). And try to imagine battling without Sleep Clause at all.

I really, REALLY wish I had something I could breed Spore on right now, in fact.
Breloom says hi.

Wait, your Mandibuzz doesn't have Overcoat? Go catch one from my Safari, seriously.

I guess I should complain about the use of Water and Ground types then, seeing as how both my types are weak to those. Let's not allow people to use those types.

And it is possible to beat someone with less than your whole team.

Not my types. Grass/Fighting.

I might have been looking at the wrong list when I commented that no Dark types get Overcoat.

We're not discussing types. If I was, I'd be talking about banning something strong against Dark and I would look foolish. I'm talking about statuses. Sleep is the most incapacitating move there is. You can't compare it to Burn or Poison, which slow-kill and can still be countered by using moves like Draining Kiss. It makes it so you can't do anything. At least my Sylveon managed to go toe to toe (different battle) with an opponent and take it out with Toxic whittling away its HP (Draining Kiss after a Calm Mind was very useful). It it was asleep instead, it was as good as dead. There's no comparison. And it's ridiculous that one should have to allow one of their Pokémon to be permanently incapaticated.

Guess I better get Florges ready with Aromatherapy.

Too bad I can't just use Electric Terrain.

And it is possible to beat someone with less than your whole team.
Oh, no doubt. I've seen sweeps. In fact, I got an idea...stay tuned.

The point of burns is not for the damage it causes, but for the Attack cut. Burns incapacitate physical attackers, bar the Fire typed ones. Paralysis cripples fast but frail non-Electric type pokes like Greninja.

But that's not the point. The point is, while sleep is indeed crippling, it isn't permanent and you have plenty of options against it:

-Switching out
-Sleep Talk
-Overcoat
-Insomnia
-Lum and Chesto berries
-Status-curing moves
-use of Grass types that are immune to Spore and Sleep Powder
-Safety Goggles

There's also the fact that sleep inducing moves don't have a terribly good distribution. While some of the above doesn't apply to you (Grass types) or is really niche (Safety Goggles, Insomnia), you still have enough options to deal with sleep, which isn't terribly common anyway. It's not like Evasion where you have to run specific moves/abilities that are not beneficial outside of dealing with that one thing.

In fact, I got an idea...stay tuned.
I do wanna hear about this.

I just sent a challenge request. Who do I battle first?
You can challenge the Gym Leaders in any order to like. It's up to you though to initiate contact with them though. Think of it like the games; the Gym Leaders don't actively seek challengers, they wait for people to come to them.

On another note.....who made an account on the battle server named The Prism League?

Spoiler:

The Prism League was created by me. I thought it would be best to reserve the name for something in case we needed it, also in case someone tried posing as the league. Zekrom, the password is the same as the joint account.
Ooooooh, ok. It was just a little weird to see that name pop up in the server. But good thinking to have the name reserved.

If you're suggesting it's not fit to be used in the league, I don't think that notion will get very far with anybody else :P There's tons of ways around it, from Vital Spirit, Insomnia, Worry Seed (in doubles), Lum Berries, Sleep Talk, Taunt, Electric Terrain, Safety goggles, all that - annnnnd most types having some grass type hybrid, barring like dragon and fire, it's not really broken so much as just very competitively viable.
