Questionable moves

what's more weird to me is that whenever the trainer yells "Dodge!" they can magically avoid almost any attack. These attacks in the game have near perfect accuracy and almost always hit unless sand-attack or double team is used.

also yea, Ash's pikachu can use thunder to damage ground-types. what's that about?

Then explain Haxachu. =\

Pikachu uses Rain Dance! Pikachu uses Thunderbolt! It's super effective! Onix fainted!

Pikachu uses Thunderbolt on Rhydon's horn! It's a critical hit! It's super effective! Rhydon fainted!

In a movie, the first movie, GOLEM got pulverize by Pikachu's Electricity! whoa.

^It also pulverized 5 other pokemon at the same time. Wtf?

Haha, I've always been annoyed by that. But that was back in the ooold days when Ash's little cute pokéys could beat anything by just touching it.
... I thought to myself, until I came across a random episode from D/P. Seems like Ash's still the ûber of trainers.

And I don't get the difference between Water Gun and Hydro Pump. Does anyone have a picture of it in your head? The game shows WaG like a plump of water and HyP more or less like a cannon (could be wrong, don't remember HyP on the gamescreen) but in that case, what is a Water Cannon??(at least it was an attack on a TCGcard)

I don't get is in the anime, the trainer shouts "dodge" and the pokemon dodges it.
Well you see before they shout dodge the pokemon is helplessly standing there.
I mean, think for your self!

I bet all of ash's pokemon would be dead if ash didn't tell them to dodge the attack. They owuld just sit and get hit!

another questionable move is hail, i mean i dont' care if the oposing pokemon is ice, it doesn't mean hail doesn't hurt!

In the series world of Pokemon, there is no levels and attacks are different. The game is NOT the correct reference for what CAN occur in Pokemon. In the series, Pokemon can balance on their tail to avoid electric attacks. The game is obviously wrong and questionable since you cannot do this in the game! The pokemon games are so stupid!

i'd like to show everyone episode 9 of SolarBlade00's pokémon abridged series. it addresses the levels issue and whatnot:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-X8bVHBvcRg

also, its funny :P

Darkjagwar, thanks for that, this reminds me of CaptainAwesome's Pokeman series and his abridged Pokemon movie. Unfortunately they have all been removed due to terms of use violations.

I haven't even seen that episode of the real show in your video. Is it really about levels?

I do recommend however Pokemon Parody.

no, its not about levels, ev spreads, or a shiny growlithe. it's just another episode in which Ash is determined to win and totally pwns these students who learn stuff. the students are all about strategy and Ash is all like screw strategy, i'm the main character!!! and he wins obvs.

They removed it? I favorited one of those. It was awesome. D:

Sunny day is a very weird move imo, can't imagine how it would work in the anime. It would be a giant mess if all pokemon would be rain dancing and doing sunny day.

i do hate the whole dodge crap. i've yet to see dodge fail. and hyper beam is just pure whackness now becuz its overused, making it seem like a common weak attack, same with iron tail.

It makes sense that Pikachu can TBolt Ground types. If you're grounded, you get shocked. They can't do this in the games because it would be unbalanced.

What I don't get is anime!Chu being able to shock things that aren't on the ground.

i don't like Confusion in the anime. there's really no good way to animate that so they have confusion animated as the user picking the opponent up w/ telekinesis and throwing them. that's not confusion at all. also, Psychic isn't in the anime at all which IMO is weird.

Mewtwo uses psychic! I think...
Confusion in the animé makes the opponent's pokémon confused the moment they're supposed to launch an attack, and they manage to hit themselves instead of the other pokémon. At least I saw Psyduck do that several times.

my point is that when confusion and/or psychic is used, all that happens is the opponent is suspended in midair and/or thrown against a wall.

to add to that, when a confusing move is used in the anime, supersonic for example, all that will happen is the target spazzes out and is like "OMG! CONFOOOZED!!" and just stands/floats/sits/lies there looking like they're in pain

Yeah... and the same thing goes for paralyzing by Stunspore. They're just confused and in pain. In the games, they just have a little hard time pulling off their attacks, since they can't move that much.

Earthquake while Surfing will always be my number one weird move. I just can't see it working.

I agree with this. Moves like Earthquake and Dig, and generally most ground moves shouldn't be able to be used when in water, as it generally defies many laws of physics. Let alone non-water Pokemon fighting in water.

I know when a Pokemon is paralyzed it doesn't mean actually like, quadriplegic. But still, a 50% chance you can move? That's retarded. The Pokemon is paralyzed. =\ Might as well make it like sleep, even though that wouldn't make much sense either. You wake up from being paralyzed? >_>

What about psychic attacks in the PKMN series...? Why are some DARK PKMN being affected by confusion and etc like that? Just like in the series where Ash, Misty, May, Brock make Badges for the Cerulean Gym. Her Psyduck used confusion on Poochyena and was thrown back... Is it ok...? Cause I don't like it for in the game, DARK won't be affected by psychic.

Au Revoir.
