News: Raichu Alola Form, new Pokémon + more

I'm loving the overall design Team Skull has got. And I also like how compared to the other evil team leaders, Guzma seems a little more chill and laid back, but that could just be the impression I get because of his art's posture.

And that Raichu! It looks so cute, hahaha.

First look at one of the team admins:

I hope they don't do to her what they did to Team Flare's admins.

I hope they don't do to her what they did to Team Flare's admins.

Hopefully, since she has a name, she won't be treated similarly to Team Flare's nameless admins.

Although, their scientists had some slick designs, and still ended up being some of the most lackluster characters of the series. Team Skull looks good, but looks aren't everything.

I'm hyped for Eyeshadow Boss but I won't automatically assume we've got our next Team Plasma until the game is in my hands--even just knowing what their goals are won't prove or disprove anything regarding the quality of the narrative.

Like Angie said, Team Skull look to have some personality. Personally to me, the last good evil team was Team Plasma since I was one of many who was let down by Team Flare.

Anyways, nice seeing the in-game models of Marowak and Meowth's Alola Forms. Definitely looks much better compared to the low-quality art. Disappointing that Alolan Meowth gets the exact same abilities as its normal counterpart though.

I expected Wishiwashi (Yowashi) to have a new ability that revolved around its alternate form. It will be interesting to find out what triggers the Schooling ability to make its alternate form.
I thought it was quite obvious. If it's level is beyond a certain number, it immediately triggers. Not very exciting to be honest, so I could be wrong and I'd be okay with being wrong.

Raichu surfing on its own tail. That's fun! I also like the new palette.

I gotta ask, what exactly makes Alolan Raichu psychic?? Of all types? I'm not seeing it? That seems odd.

Also. What exactly are Alolan Raichu's ears supposed to look like?

I'm not dissing it I just wanna know more about it.

It appears to stand on its tail surfboard, and that tail surfboard levitates on the ground. How? Psychic powers. :D

Yeah the leaker said they're stopping posting pictures, but they have revealed everything that is on the next video due on Friday

Alolan Raichu's speed doubles with Electric Terrain:
Spoiler:

This is really good in Doubles where Raichu can Fake Out whoever threatens their partner (who will likely set up Electric Terrain). Then the next turn, Raichu's boosted speed will apply.

Gotta go fast, my friend. You deserve it! (´; ω ;`)

Alolan Raichu's speed doubles with Electric Terrain:
Spoiler:

So that's what Surge Surfer does? Maybe Alolan Raichu could make a good team with Tapu Koko since its ability summons an automatic Electric Terrain.

I thought it was quite obvious. If it's level is beyond a certain number, it immediately triggers. Not very exciting to be honest, so I could be wrong and I'd be okay with being wrong.

Maybe we'll have to wait until after the trailer drops before we find out what Schooling exactly does.

Also: Morellul is... definitely very interesting! I'm going to withhold any further opinions on it until I see evolutions though; I know for sure that it isn't going to remain looking puny like that o.o I wonder what kind of Pokemon it'll evolve into?

Mushroom Pokemon usually tend to only evolve once, so that's my likely guess for its evolution line. Game Freak could change it up a bit though and make it a three-stage line instead.

Wouldn't it be amazing if Alolan Raichu could learn Surf? Now that its tail is literally a surfboard?

Idk, I personally was hoping for Surge Surfer to be something more than serving a niche purpose in doubles. :x

If Alola forms rearrange the BST of each Pokémon, this could actually be really, really good. Raichu could lose a bit of Speed for higher Defenses and Sp. Attack, and then the Ability more than makes up for the loss of Speed. Not to mention it gives some more use to (Electric) Terrain. Depending on its Stats, this could turn Raichu into a fairly deadly sweeper, singles or doubles.

How did Raichu "adapt" to Alola and gain a Psychic typing? I mean that's the premise of Alola forms right?

I mean, it's cute, but...

It can feel the waves in its soul.

It has become one with the surf, and has gained psychic powers to communicate with them.

The true soul of the surfer.

Raichu is my second favourite pokémon and I love his new form, possibly the best alola form yet. Is the idea that he surfs using his tail as a 'board'? If so, even better. I think I posted not too long ago saying Raichu gets overlooked too often so this is great to see.

Meowth's is a bit disappointing, but I'm guessing we'll see a dark Persian that will be awesome.

Marowak's form is a major improvement on how it originally looks. It's still hardly one of my favourite pokémon, but it's a lot cooler now.

As for the new species and evil team, they're passable I suppose. I'm still a bit disappointed that I haven't seen a new pokémon that I really, really like since Rowlet.
