News: Raichu Alola Form, new Pokémon + more

Hmm, I wonder why only Raichu changed, but not Pichu, or Pikachu.Well, at least Raichu got some love <3. I expected the Pikachu (well Pichu) line to get something, seeing how Meowth and Persian are their counterparts. Hmm, Meowth is part dark...psychic is weak against Dark...
 
The fish and cucumber have dumb names. Raichu looks too kawaii desk weeaboo. Meowth still look dumb. Marowak looks cool. Team skull I couldn't care less about, same goes for the mushroom Pokemom.

Mushroom Pokemon usually tend to only evolve once, so that's my likely guess for its evolution line. Game Freak could change it up a bit though and make it a three-stage line instead.

Going off a sample size of... 3, I don't think this is really worth noting. It also seems highly unlikely that the number of stages would be based on the design's basis alone. It's just a coincidence. I could see it being 2 or 3 stage. I'm gonna throw a bet in for 3 stage, because why not. I'm just feeling it.
 
Not a fan of Wishiwashi and Pyukumuku's names. I'll hardly remember them xD
 
I really like the Alolan form of Marowak. There's a nice nod based on its typing to the fact that it was the ghost in the Pokémon Tower. And it just looks cool, haha!

Raichu is adorable and I want twenty.
 
I'm pretty happy about that Raichu form. It's nice to see that it's gained something for a change instead of Pikachu. And that animation! Pretty cool that it's surfing on its tail while levitating.
 
Despite liking most of what I've seen so far, I'm hoping for more than Gen 1 Alola forms, but with Pokemon Go and R/B/Y being transferable to Sun/Moon I feel like they'll limit the forms to 1st gen pokemon for this region. Understandable, but disappointing nonetheless.

Team Skull looks rather goofy, in a good way. I'd prefer if the villain team this time kept it simple when it comes their goals.
 
I don't know if we should take 50 as the correct level, since they could just edit it however they want. But maybe at level 50 is when it changes. I wonder if it's a change that we can select, and if the stats change, or if it's done automatically at the beginning of the battle. I don't really get how it works, either. How is it not considered more than one Pokemon? Can't they just keep continually replacing themselves when they get injured?

Also I wonder why footage of the Sandcastle mon hasn't been shown yet? I hope they're shown in the trailer. I want to see how they move.
 
I think Fairy would fit Raichu better but I love it! So cute <3

Rumor has it that the sand castle mons are corocoro exclusives, just like Nekkoala, and Iwanko were. So we might not see them until later this month.

As ORandAS said, Sunabaa, Shirodesuna and Nuikoguma might be revealed in English at a later point. Rockruff and Komala were initially revealed in CoroCoro but didn't get their English reveal on the official Sun & Moon website until weeks after the CoroCoro in question was released.
