Weavile would be the better option, it gets to attack every turn.
Jolly nature btw.

Fire Punch is also available from Platinum, and some people will offer tutoring services.

Good luck finding a tutor program, I still can't :/

Hey folks of the wonderful S&M, ^_^. I'm looking for a possible mixed-set for a Honchkrow as well as any thoughts of altering the Salac Reversal set for Scyther.

Scyther@Salac Berry
Adamant/Technician
252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spe
~Reversal
~Swords Dance
~Aerial Ace
~Substitute/Endure

And can anyone tutor me in exactly how Reversal works? (hopefully in more basic terms than Smogon XD)

Mixed Crow Set

Honchkrow @ Life Orb
126 SpA/ 126 Att/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP
Lonely Nature/ Super Luck
- Dark Pulse
- Super Power (Platnium Only)
- Sucker Punch
- Heat Wave (Platnuim Only)

Just made it up now, hope it works.

Reversal inflicts greater damage when the user's HP is lower. check this out for calculating reversals power:

Users remaining hp Power
71%-100%-------- 20
36%-70% ---------40
21%-35%--------- 80
11%-20%--------- 100
5%-10% ----------150
0%-4%----------- 200

So if you are left with 1 hp, 200 will be the power of reversal.
As easy as that.

Thanks, Cody, I'll definitely use that spread and perhaps the moves. Does anyone have any sets that don't involve access to Platinum? (Unless of course you could do a move tutor for me once I finish training it, Cody :P)

Yeah, that's what I read on Smogon, I just wanted to make sure there weren't other complications to it.

So does that mean for Scyther's Salac set would work better with Endure? I'm preferring it over Sub at the moment.

Hmm... I made a Honchkrow set without Platinum moves. Enjoy!

Honchkrow @ Life Orb
Lonely Nature/ Super Luck
126 Att/ 126 SpA/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP
- Hidden Power Fighting/ Icy Wind
- Sucker Punch
- Steel Wing/Drill Peck
- Psychic

As for HP Fighting or Icy Wind, HP gets rid of Normal and other Dark types trying to switch in. Icy Wind is for those pesky Dragons and fellow flying types. This is the set I made up have on my Honchkrow:

Honchkrow @ Life Orb
Adamant Nature/ Insomia
252 Att/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP
- Pursuit
- Steel Wing
- Drill Peck
- Sucker Punch

This works out well, he is on my competitive battling team. He is one great counter to Gengar, if you play your cards right. Switch in to a predicted Hypnosis, Insomia keeps you awake, then either predict a switch (Pursuit) or an attack (Sucker Punch).

This is my team:

Mixed Wall

Spiritomb @ Leppa Berry (has good Def. IV's)
252 HP/80 Def./176 Sp. Def.
Impish Nature/Pressure
Sucker Punch (max PP)
Taunt
Spite
Pain Split

Taunt to ensure that the foe attacks, Sucker Punch gets STAB and always goes first, despite Spiritomb's horrible speed. Speaking of Spite, Spite takes advantage of Spiritomb's low speed to cut the forced attack's PP by 4. Will-O-Wisp burns the enemy to make it even harder for the enemy to get a physical attack down, and likely will scare them away to the shelter of someone like Blissey. When this happens, Spiritomb's job is done, and it switches out to someone with high attack, like Tauros.

Special Sweeper:

Charizard @ Wise Glasses
(I don't know; this is the very first Pokemon I EV trained, but I know for sure it has 252 Sp. Atk.)
Modest Nature/Blaze
Fire Blast
Sunny Day
Solar Beam
Air Slash

This is basically your average SunnyBeaming Charizard, EXCEPT for one thing-Air Slash. Air Slash beats the Heracross who is unlucky enough to switch into Charizard, and also acts as a substitute for Fire Blast in some occasions when you can't afford to use two turns to use Sunny Day and then Fire Blast, or when Fire Blast is out of PP.

Physical Sweeper:

Tauros @ Choice Band
4 HP/252 Atk./252 Spd.
Adamant Nature/Intimidate
Zen Headbutt
Return
Earthquake
Outrage

Zen Headbutt obliterates Gengar. Period. Return is a strong attack which gets STAB. And Outrage? It can be a big help against dragons who don't know it can learn that move. EQ is a cliched move, and is expected on Tauros, but hey, it's got a lot of type coverage.

What I would like on my team, but I don't know if it's supportive of the rest of it is this:

Mixed Sweeper:

Infernape @ Life Orb
252 Atk./24 Sp. Atk./232 Spd.
Adamant Nature/Blaze
Overheat
Close Combat
Stone Edge
ThunderPunch

The Nasty Plot/Overheat combo. And what a fine combo it is. Upping Special Attack two stages, scorching your foes with Overheat, thus putting your stats back to normal, is so ironic, that it could actually work. ThunderPunch destroys Gyarados. (Poor Gyarados...I used to have one on my team.) If I wanted to Burn, I'd send out Spiritomb first.

Physical Wall/Pseudo-Physical Sweeper

Rhyperior @ Razor Claw
252 HP/6 Atk./252 Def.
Adamant Nature/Solid Rock
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Megahorn
Avalanche

This moveset comes from Smogon. (Just telling you before you start flaming me.) The item and EV's do not, however. I feel Razor Claw is better than Choice Band for this reason: While Choice Band increases Attack by 50%, critical hits double the power of the move itself. This can be handy especially while using Stone Edge, which, with its high critical hit rate, makes critical hits have a 1/4 chance of happening, and if it happens, then Stone Edge will do a massive 200 damage, which can probably do a 2HKO on Gyarados, not to mention OHKO Charizard.

Special Wall

Blissey @ Leftovers
252 Def./40 Sp. Atk./216 Sp. Def.
Calm Nature/Natural Cure
Aromatherapy
Ice Beam
Softboiled
Toxic

Yes, this moveset is "Cleric Blissey" from Smogon, but I like it. The reason I like it is because Toxic slowly but steadily eats away at your opponent's HP, and the damage it takes at the end of each turn doubles every turn.

252 HP/80 Def./176 Sp. Def.
Careful/Pressure
Sucker Punch (max PP)
Taunt
Pain Split
Will-O-Wisp

Changes in Bold.

Charizard @ Wise Glasses
(I forget, but it's 252 Sp. Atk)
Modest Nature/Blaze
Fire Blast
Sunny Day
Solar Beam
Air Slash

Okay.

Physical Sweeper:

Tauros @ Choice Band
4 HP/252 Atk./252 Spd.
Adamant Nature/Intimidate
Zen Headbutt
Return
Iron Tail
EQ

Tauros can't learn Outrage, it is not on any listing from Smogon or Bulbapedia. Unless it's a Platinum move.

Mixed Sweeper:

Infernape @ Life Orb
252 Atk./24 Sp. Atk./232 Spd.
Jolly Nature/Blaze
Flare Blitz
Close Combat
U-Turn/ Stone Edge/ EQ
ThunderPunch

Hate to break the news hun. Infernape isn't gonna live long enough to Nasty Plot then Overheat. Your just gonna lose Nasty Plot anyway after Overheat.

Physical Wall/Pseudo-Physical Sweeper

Rhyperior @ Choice Band
129 HP/129 Atk./252 Def.
Adamant Nature/Solid Rock
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Megahorn
Avalanche

Razor Claw is a Hax item. Choice band is much better.

Special Wall

Blissey @ Leftovers
252 Def./40 Sp. Atk./216 Sp. Def.
Calm Nature/Natural Cure
Aromatherapy
Ice Beam
Softboiled Okay
Toxic

Changes in Bold. This team needs alot of work.

It only works on the mom.

oh thanx.how much damage would a lvl 50 modest gengars focusblast do to an average lvl50 blissey

Are there any good OU special walls not named Blissey or Snorlax? I'm finding a lot lately that Tentacruel isn't cutting it. He might have to stay as a spinner, but not as my primary Sp.Att taker.

Regice and Regirock (in Sandstorm) can work, although the former is Stealth Rock weak. Milotic can function decently as well.

Standard LO Gar (Who wants timid btw) does 37-43% (216SpDef/40HP) or 38-45% (176SpDef) at level 50. Why 50 btw?

What are some decent users of dual screens for standard environment apart from Bronzong and Deoxys-S?

No idea, I haven't seen anything bar those two even attempt the job :S

What would be the set for a Milotic? Something like:
Milotic@Lefties
Calm nature
EVs: 252 HP, ??Sp.Def, ??Sp.Att
Moves:
Surf
Ice Beam
Hypnosis
Recover

Eh, I'd consider dropping Hypnosis, since in Platinum, the accuracy is 60%. Maybe put HP Electric over it to handle Gyara.
